- [Going to rescue Marina from a Roc]
- Sinbad: She couldn't *see* the bird? Everyone *else* saw it. It's as big as the freakin' ship! Marina? Marina's looking the *other* way.
- Sinbad: [after one of Proteus' men was eaten and then spit up my a sea monster but goes back to fighting it anyway] Give that guy a raise!
- [Marina saved the crew from the Sirens, all Sinbad does is blame her for the damage she did to the ship]
- Marina: Are you crazy? I saved your life!
- Sinbad: Oh, I would've been fine. I always am.
- Marina: Right.
- [walks away muttering toward her "cabin"]
- Marina: So ungrateful. It's just typical.
- Sinbad: And you chipped the paint! Right here, look at it! That's more than a little scratch!
- [Marina slams the door behind her, the crew and Spike look at Sinbad reproachfully]
- Sinbad: [groans angrily] The dog - and the crew - and th-th-that *woman*!
- [knocks at Marina's door]
- Sinbad: [both shouting]
- Marina: What?
- Sinbad: Thank you!
- Marina: You're welcome!
- Sinbad: No problem!
- Marina: Don't worry about it!
- Sinbad: I won't!
- Marina: Good!
- Sinbad: Good-bye!
- Marina: Bye to you!
- [slams door shut again]
- Kale: So, any idea how we actually *get* to Tartarus?
- Sinbad: Tartarus?
- [chuckling]
- Sinbad: Oh, no, no, no, no. People get *killed* in Tartarus.
- Kale: [sly] So where are we going?
- Sinbad: [lays down a map of Fiji] Fiji!
- Kale: Fiji? This time of year?
- Sinbad: Think of the beaches.
- Kale: Oh, beautiful, if you like mosquitoes.
- Sinbad: Think of the sun.
- Kale: It's monsoon season.
- Sinbad: Oh, then the women.
- Kale: They're cannibals, Sinbad.
- Sinbad: [nudges Kale] Exactly.
- [Kale groans]
- Sinbad: Come on, Kale.
- Kale: He's your *friend*.
- Sinbad: Listen to you. You sound like my mother. Proteus will be fine.
- Kale: You're sure of that?
- Sinbad: You and I both know Dymas is not gonna let them execute his only son.
- Kale: So we're running away?
- Sinbad: We're retiring! We don't *need* another score! We've *got* enough! Now, set a course for Fiji.
- [to the crew]
- Sinbad: Gentlemen, we're heading to Fiji!
- [the crew cheer and dance]
- Marina: So, how are we gonna get down?
- Sinbad: I... I don't know.
- Marina: What?
- Sinbad: I don't know yet.
- [Marina stares at him]
- Sinbad: I'm thinking about it, all right?
- Marina: You scaled a thousand-foot tower of ice, and you don't know how to get down?
- Sinbad: Of all the ungrateful--
- [groans]
- Sinbad: Look, if you'd rather take your chances on your own, that can be arranged!
- Marina: No, shh, shh, shh, shh, all right.
- [Sinbad is dragging Marina over the ship to her new "quarters", while she fights him furiously]
- Sinbad: As you can see, we're well equipped to accommodate the most discerning of royal taste. We have excellent ocean views! Luxurious living quarters -
- [dumps her into the storeroom]
- Sinbad: with three gourmet meals a day. Pickles, eggs, and pickles!
- [Spike comes on screen]
- Sinbad: Oh hey Spike, there you are.
- [to Marina]
- Sinbad: I'd like to introduce you to your new bunkmate, or actually you're *his* new bunkmate, as it's actually his bunk. We do hope you have a pleasant stay aboard the Chimera! Oh. If he starts hugging your leg - it means he likes you.
- [Marina is trying to get Sinbad to go to Tartarus and get the Book of Peace back to save Proteus]
- Marina: You're really not going to lose any sleep over this, are you?
- Sinbad: Not a wink.
- Marina: Because me, I'd be tossing and turning, knowing I'm alive... because I let my friend die.
- Sinbad: Augh! I'm not responsible for this mess! And I didn't ask Proteus to put his neck on the line for me!
- Marina: Look, clearly I can't appeal to your *honour*. But I have other ways of convincing you.
- Sinbad: Really? Uh... Just how do you expect to do that?
- Marina: By speaking your language.
- [holds up a large diamond]
- Sinbad: [takes the diamond] Keep talking.
- Marina: [Marina empties a small bag of jewels into his hand. Sinbad considers it]
- Sinbad: Yup, this'll do! But - not for first class.
- Eris: Now we all know what happens if you get the Book of Peace. You return it to Syracuse and save Proteus. But if you don't get the Book, you have a choice to make. Either sail to paradise with the woman of your dreams, or return to Syracuse to die. You're either a thief or a hero. So here's my question: If you don't get the Book, will you go back to die?
- Sinbad: Look, this is the way it works. First, I actually commit a crime, *then* you get to blame me for it!
- [first lines]
- Eris: Wake up, my beauties. Rise and shine. It's a brand new day and the mortal world is at peace, but not for long. Just look at them. I pull one tiny thread, and their whole world unravels into chaos. *Glorious* chaos.
- Sinbad: Hey I got this.
- [Sinbad pulls out a dagger]
- Marina: Great he can pick his teeth when he's done with us.
- Sinbad: Yeah, you see in the hands of an expert a good knife has 1,001 good uses
- [He starts tossing it around and it hits the place where they are hiding and splits it wide open Marina groans and looks menacingly at Sinbad and Sinbad laughs nervously and Roc starts coming towards them Sinbad grabs Marina]
- Sinbad: RUN!
- Sinbad: Wait a minute. I didn't lie. I came back. That's why you're here. This was all part of your test. I told the truth. And wasn't there something about being "bound for all eternity"?
- [Sinbad and Marina have entered the Realm of Chaos]
- Sinbad: [uneasy] OK. I'm severely creeped out.
- Eris: [appears; clapping] Bravo. No mortal has ever made it to Tartarus before... alive, that is. Make yourself at home.
- Sinbad: Thank you. Uh, nice place you got here.
- Eris: Like it? I'm planning on doing the whole world this way.
- Sinbad: Wow! That's a good plan. Well, I see you're busy, so listen. We'll just take the Book of Peace and get out of your way.
- Eris: [chuckles] What makes you think *I* have it?
- Sinbad: Uh, well, you framed me for the theft, so they would execute me.
- Eris: You?
- Sinbad: Yeah.
- [Eris raises her eyebrows; Sinbad frowns]
- Sinbad: No.
- [releases]
- Sinbad: Proteus! You knew he would take my place!
- Eris: [chuckles and scratches a stone column, cracking it] What a clever little man you are.
- Sinbad: You thought I'd run... then Proteus would die... and Syracuse would be--!
- Eris: Left without the next rightful king and tumble into glorious chaos.
- Marina: Sinbad, you're not a very complicated guy. All someone has to do is imagine the most *gutless* course of action and you're bound to take it!
- [Sinbad has been arrested and locked in a cell]
- Proteus: [steps out from the shadows] Sinbad!
- Sinbad: Proteus! It's about time.
- Proteus: Do you realise how serious this is?
- Sinbad: Do *you* realise how many times I've heard that today?
- Proteus: You've betrayed Syracuse!
- Sinbad: Oh! Not you too.
- Proteus: Stealing the Book of Peace when you *knew* how much it meant to us!
- Sinbad: Proteus, here's the way this works: First, I *actually* commit a crime, and *then* you get to blame me for it!
- Proteus: [draws Sinbad's knife from inside his coat] Then how to you explain this?
- Sinbad: [stares at the knife in shock as he realises] Eris.
- Proteus: [puts the knife back in his coat] What?
- Sinbad: Eris! She framed me.
- Proteus: Sinbad, listen to yourself.
- Sinbad: Trust me, Proteus, the Book is in Tartarus. Talk to your father. Tell him I'm...
- Proteus: This is beyond my father! The ambassadors are convening now for your trial.
- Sinbad: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, *trial*? I didn't do it! Look, I left the Book on your ship, and that's the last I saw of it! You were there. You know the truth. You know me.
- Proteus: Do I? I knew a *kid*! Who are you *now*, Sinbad?
- [Sinbad sighs]
- Proteus: Look me in the eye and tell me... Did you steal the Book?
- Sinbad: No.
- [Proteus stares back seriously]
- Eris: You're not thinking big enough, Sinbad. Steal the book for ransom and you can be rich enough to lounge on an island beach. Steal the book for me, and you can buy the beach. And the island. And the world.
- [Sinbad finds out Marina sneaked onto the ship]
- Sinbad: What do you think you're doing here?
- Marina: I'm here to make sure you get the Book of Peace. Or bring back your dead body if you fail.
- Sinbad: *Really.* And how are you going to pull that off?
- Marina: By whatever means necessary.
- Sinbad: Did you bring a crew?
- Marina: No.
- Sinbad: You know how to get to Tartarus?
- Marina: Um... no.
- Sinbad: Can you navigate on your own?
- Marina: Yes!
- Sinbad: Well good! Then I'll dump your butt in a rowboat and you can paddle all the way back to Syracuse. 'Cause we're going to Fiji.
- [Proteus stares out to sea through a jail cell window; turns at the sound of keys unlocking the door; Dymas steps into the cell]
- Dymas: [approaches] Proteus, come quickly.
- Proteus: What?
- Dymas: There's a ship waiting in the harbour.
- [takes Proteus' arm and leads him to the door]
- Dymas: A crew of my most trusted officers will take you far from Syracuse.
- Proteus: [breaks free of Dymas' grip and stops] But the ambassadors' guards.
- Dymas: Are asleep or well-bribed, but we must go now.
- Proteus: Go where? To live the rest of my life in exile?
- Dymas: To *live*, son! I won't let them execute you for Sinbad's crime.
- Proteus: Neither will Sinbad.
- Dymas: Proteus, don't be foolish! Sinbad has no intention of going to Tartarus! The Sinbad you knew as a child--!
- Proteus: Is still in him as a man! I've seen it.
- Dymas: Proteus...
- [sighs and looks sadly at his son]
- Proteus: [smiles] Go, Father.
- [touches Dymas' shoulders]
- Proteus: I know what I'm doing.
- [Dymas frowns as Proteus returns to the window; the door is locked and Proteus sighs as he stares out to sea]
- [after hooking onto the fish and everyone is seasick]
- Sailors: No Spike... Don't...
- [Spike vomits]
- Sailor: Who gave *him* carrots?
