First Nicktoon to exclusively use twenty-two-minute stories, Nicktoons before usually had two ten or eleven-minute stories, and only used twenty-two-minute stories on occasion.
A huge mural by the escalators at the defunct Nickelodeon Studios is of the main characters of the Wild Thornberrys along with the logo. The mural can still be seen from second story windows of the abandoned building.
Tim Curry has claimed Nigel Thornberry to be one of his all-time favorite roles.
This show was originally pitched as an adult animated series to FOX titled "Nigel Thornberry's Animal World". The network passed on it. Some years later, it was retooled as a much more child friendly series at Nickelodeon.
