Why are we trying new kids television program solutions when the oldest ones worked. This thing was really cool and it was much better than the crap kids have on t.v. today like "Barney" or "The Teletubies". I still have some audio tapes with Passe-Partout's songs and I never recorded over it and I never will, I'll keep them to play them to my children later.

I was the father of 2 when Passe Partout started. I don't know how I started watching the shows but I ended up loving it as much as my children! The line I remember most is "deux fesses qui s'connaissent" which was very provocative for a kids show in my opinion of the time. But we all loved the show nonetheless.
This show was so good for both parents and kids! The whole cast were heros to scores of kids. They learned and were entertained all at the same time. Much the French equivalent in quality and education as Sesame Street was.
They just don't make them like this anymore!!!

As a child I adored Passe-Partout. It was inventive, touching, funny. The actors were great; Marie Eykel, Claire Pimpare and Jacques l'Heureux mainly but I also love Kim (the grand-mother) and all the others were also interesting characters (Julie, although she did not show up in many episode, did nonetheless a good job.
And the puppets were so imaginative...they represent all the kids I know and myself included. The TV series we have nowadays do not have the magic shown in Passe-partout.
As I grew up and have a child of my own, I now realize how great that series was and regret not having recorded all the episodes....I cannot find any DVD to buy for my baby although recently there are talks about releasing a DVD for the first season.
Let's hope it's true!
