“SNL” revived its beloved “Black Jeopardy” sketch for its 50th anniversary, except this time with Eddie Murphy playing Tracy Morgan.

In the sketch, Kenan Thompson returned as the host of “Black Jeopardy,” introducing the sketch by saying “Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” referencing Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at last week’s Super Bowl.

Leslie Jones also returned as Shanice alongside Morgan, who played a man named Darius, and Murphy, who played “Tracy Morgan.”

“Darius, Tracy, y’all seem like you might be related,” Thompson said, though Murphy’s Morgan immediately rejected the idea, saying “Well, James Earl Jones is my biological father. James Earl Jones impregnated my mother on the set of ‘Claudine.’ You know what? We might be related.”

Still, Morgan, said, “I don’t see it.”

“Black Jeopardy,” one of Kenan Thompson’s most popular recurring “Saturday Night Live” sketches, came back to 30 Rock during the show’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday. As usual, Thompson played host Darnell Hayes aka Alex Treblack, with contestants being played by former cast members Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan and, most notably, Eddie Murphy.

The biggest laughs were earned by Murphy, who did an impression of Morgan, while Morgan played a man named Darius and Jones played a woman named Shanice.

“Welcome to ‘Black Jeopardy,’ the only ‘Jeopardy’ where every single viewer fully understood Kendrick’s halftime performance,” Thompson said, opening the sketch with a reference to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl appearance.

As Thompson introduced him, Murphy called out, “Big dog gonna make some big money!” in an exaggerated put-on of Morgan’s voice.

“Now wait a minute, Tracy. Don’t you already have a lot of money?” Thompson asked him.

Questlove can still remember seeing Billy Preston perform on the first Saturday Night Live on Oct. 11, 1975. Technically, he wasn’t allowed to watch TV, but his parents were Soul Train devotees who wanted their son, then four, to absorb “anything musical,” he says. To get him ready for its 1 a.m. start time, they’d wake him up at 12:30… as Lorne Michaels’ brand-new sketch show was airing. “Back then, Weekend Update was a two-part thing, and then the musical guest would do two songs after, and then [again] right before 1 a.

As a kid, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson would go to bed on Saturday nights at 8:30 p.m., but his parents were “cool enough” to wake him up to watch the musical performances on Saturday Night Live as well as Soul Train. So when he got the call from Lorne Michaels to direct a documentary of the musical side of the series celebrating 50 years, he was ready.

But he did more research. “I knew those episodes by heart,” says Questlove, who got the call in 2020 to work on Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music and was 4 years old when SNL launched in 1975. “I was trying to do the math in my head. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s 2020 and the anniversary is in 2025. If I can do about five to seven episodes daily, then maybe I can catch up to it.”

Dancing With the Stars had two nights of performances since the show was not on air the previous week. On Monday, Oct. 7, the contestants celebrated Soul Train Night while Tuesday was Hair Metal Night as they danced to rock anthems. Since there were two performances this week, there was a double elimination, so we sadly said goodbye to two celebrities.

All of the couples put their best feet forward and while there were some performances that didn’t go to plan, leaving Ilona Maher in tears on night two for example, it was still fun to watch, especially with guest judges Rosie Perez on night one and rocker Gene Simmons on night two.

Who went home after two nights of performances on Dancing With the Stars?

The scores for both nights were combined and their total reflected both dances, even though the elimination only took place on the second night of the competition.

We can only imagine how Dancing With the Stars fans feel about Gene Simmons as a guest judge.

Especially after some questioned Rosie Perez’s credentials when she was guest host for Soul Train night despite actually having been a Soul Train dancer.

But we don’t have to guess because many DWTS viewers were very vocal about his appearance.

And it’s hard to find anyone who was actually excited or impressed to see the Kiss frontman on the judges’ panel on Tuesday night.

It seems that the criticism was two-fold.

Some weren’t convinced that leading a legendary rock band qualified Gene Simmons to judge anyone’s dance moves, and others just weren’t impressed with his misogynistic commentary.

Either that means you really love you some Ilona Maher or you would have done whatever it took to make sure Anna Delvey was given her walking papers.

And get this: it didn’t stop there. A whopping 15 million voted on hair metal night! It had to be all the bag wigs and the presence of special guest judge-cum-world renowned ballroom expert Gene Simmons, right? Clearly, DWTS fans are clearly more engaged than ever, which is a good sign for ABC. That means we’ll have TV’s best variety show for years to come!

Bartees Strange has announced a new album, Horror, due out February 14th via 4Ad. To preview the album, the songwriter has shared a music video for lead single “Sober.” Watch it below.

Horror follows Strange’s acclaimed 2022 effort Farm to Table, as well as a handful of loosies from various compilations, soundtracks, and single releases. The record boasts production and contributions from Jack Antonoff and is set to further expand Strange’s eclectic blend of genres.

“In a way, I think I made this record to reach out to people who may feel afraid of things in their lives too,” Strange said of Horror. “For me it’s love, locations, cosmic bad luck, or that feeling of doom that I’ve struggled with for as long as I can remember. I think that it’s easier to navigate the horrors and strangeness of life once you realize that everyone around you feels the same.

As The Price Is Right season premiere approaches, model Amber Lancaster thanked fans for all their love.

Amber, a model on the game show for many seasons, also indicated she is “ready to get back on stage” amid the show’s hiatus.

She’s appeared on other TV shows, including a stint as a dancer on Soul Train from 2003 to 2006 and a guest appearance on the soap opera Days of Our Lives.

In 2008, she joined the CBS game show, which features models Rachel Reynolds, Alexis Gaube, Manuela Arbelaez, James O’Halloran, and Devin Goda.

When the skeptical Astrid ends up in the Neitherworld after being tricked by her date, Lydia summons Beetlejuice to help her rescue her daughter.

You're probably just as shocked to be reading this guide to the fantastic cast and characters of S.W. A.T. as we were to put it all together for you, considering the show was expected to end after Season 7, but the disturbingly handsome Hondo is back and better than ever!

The reboot of the 1975 series will give it one more go-ahead, or, at least, that's what we've been told so far because we might find ourselves here again in another year if the next season of the police procedural does as remarkable as its previous season.

Exclusive: Stevie Van Zandt, a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, has had a long association with television, starring as Silvio Dante in The Sopranos and leading Netflix’s Lilyhammer.

The musician and actor is now looking to merge the two with a music television format, The Jam.
