"El poder de las tinieblas" (Power of Darkness) is a film based upon a famous novel by argentinian writer Ernesto Sábato INFORME SOBRE CIEGOS. Its plot is simple and powerful: a person begins to believe that every blind man he sees is persecuting him. This fear is gradually growing to reach unexpectable points. The plot is ok, but actors are not playing good enough and, therefore, the film is not so good as the book. Anyway, I think it is a good defy to comprehend some of the not always successful relationships between literature and cinema.

A confusing film, poorly directed and with a wasted script
Mario Sabato's movie is sometimes not seen, it is so dark and its resolution was very bad at the time, it seems to have been made with a very low budget, a decent performance by Aldo Barbero. The other performances are very bad, at times the film is not understood since the shots do not connect with the idea that there is a consiparoic character, what it really seems is comical, it does not generate doubts or fear, the film does not generate ANYTHING
I wish I had taken advantage of that good idea inspired by Ernesto Sabato to make a decent product and not this garbage movie.
