Mumtaz comeback to films after 12 years which remains her only comeback film after her marriage to Mayur Wadhwani.
Shatrughan Sinha and Mumtaz play Prosenjit Chatterjee's parents in this film. 18 years earlier they had both acted with Prosenjit's father Biswajeet in the 1972 film "Shararat."
The song "Duniya Mein Tere Siva" was later recreated as "Jaane Jigar Jaaneman" in the film Aashiqui.
Aamir Khan was offered the film but refused as he did nt like the script.
