Aasmaan review :
After Ek Jaan Hai Hum (1983), Rajeev Kapoor - Divya Rana pair was repeated in Aasman produced by Tito -Tony who had made films like Do Anjaane (1976) and Ram Balram (1980) earlier. The film's plot was loosely inspired from Shashi Kapoor's super hit film Haseena Maan Jaayegi (1968) and featured Rajeev in double role of an army officer and his cunning doppelganger who assumes his identity after bumping him off.
Divya Rana made a fantastic pair with Rajeev and she looks awesome in this film. The romantic moments are well executed and the song "Banke nazar dil ki zubaan. Kehne lagi ek dastaan" is truly melodious. Tina Munim (Ambani) also has a pivotal role in the film so does Mala Sinha as Kapoor's onscreen maa.
Rajeev Kapoor is believable as the good guy in love with Divya though his villainous avatar could've been better developed. Still, this is one of his good performances after Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) and Ek Jaan Hai Hum (1983). The actor had pined a lot of hope on this film but unfortunately, Aasmaan tanked at the box office and Rajeev got his blockbuster only a year later with Raj Kapoor directed Ram Teri Ganga Maili.
