The Emerald Cut. This cuban story focuses on a family's divisions in the early years of the revolution. The film is powerful. It's not sentimental or manipulative. This short film has connected me to those events more emotionally than I have ever been before. The short films is filled with the wonderful and vibrant photography of Mario Garcia. Ivonne Lopez Arenal performance as Martha is one the most finest performance ever captured. Her character is intense and authentic. She is a versatile actress. The other face of the film was the cuban actor Rene Lavan as Victor giving little away in this character. Gustavo Rex and Jonathan Nicols are class A acting. Arturo Barquet made a strong impression with this great short film and sure to become one of the great Hollywood's director in the near future.
