At first, the actress selected for the role of the 'Gianna' was Elisabetta Pozzi, a theatrical actress who had already signed the contract, but was then discouraged by Giorgio Albertazzi (with whom she was engaged in theater) and gave way to Irene Miracle, a beautiful American actress here at her second film.
Irene Miracle's first lead role.
Even though she said making this film was a fun experience, Irene Miracle revealed in an interview that there were two situations that upset her. In one instance, they wanted her to shave her pubes for her bath scene but she refused. In another, a camera man was shooting from a low angle trying to film up her skirt while she was on a step ladder. She didn't say anything because she didn't went to ruin the scene, so she just kept pulling her skirt lower to block his view.
