"Obeah" is one of the most interesting glimpses of the religious practices in Trinidad. During the 40's and later in the 70's there was a wave of Hollywood films on voodoo. They are mere pablum compared to this film. "Obeah" is authentic in detail, and it is engrossing to see what mighty forces of spiritual and healing practices developed among enslaved West Africans in the West Indies.
