Featured review
This came in a box of four DVD's put out by the CBC; it was taped during a live performance at Stratford, Ontario in 1988. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I had to grit my teeth to get through the BBC production that starred John Cleese and Sarah Badel--I found Cleese just too brutal as he attempted to tame Badel. Colm Feore and Goldie Semple are much more restrained and therefore more believable in their roles. The final scene is moving and right as it grows naturally out of the character's progress through the story.
The setting is Italy in the 1950's which is colourful and emotionally right. The sports cars and Cinzano awnings are appropriate and fun.
