Johnny Galecki was once the second highest-paid TV actor in the world, only behind his The Big Bang Theory co-star Jim Parsons. Since the end of the series in 2019, Galecki hasn’t been active in Hollywood. He and his ex-girlfriend Alaina Meyer had a son in November 2019 and he has been focusing on his dad life during this period. In 2024, he welcomed a daughter with his wife Morgan Galecki.

In stunning and sad news, Gavin Creel, one of Broadway’s most popular and acclaimed leading men, died in Manhattan today just two months after being diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma. He was 48.

His death was confirmed by his partner Alex Temple Ward. Creel had undergone treatment at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering for metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma after being diagnosed in July. After his treatment at the hospital, he transitioned to hospice care at his home.

One of the most surprising aspects of classic era of "Simpsons" is just how little focus Marge and Bart get as a character duo. As YouTube "Simpsons" expert TheRealJims pointed out, the two characters don't actually get their own special A-storyline until "Marge Be Not Proud," the Christmas episode from season 7 where Bart gets caught shoplifting and is forced to seriously deal with Marge's disappointment. (That's over 150 episodes into the series!) It's a surprise gut-wrencher of an episode, told largely from Bart's perspectiv,e as he worries he might've lost his mother's love forever. The stakes aren't actually that high, of course, but from Bart's 10-year-old point-of-view, they definitely feel like they are.

Bart and Marge episodes did start happening a little more regularly in later seasons, but unfortunately, they tend not to be remembered as well in the fandom as all those Homer and Lisa episodes in earlier seasons.

The dramedy from executive producer Cedric The Entertainer and Eric Rhone and starring series creator Deji Laray and Thomas Q. Jones returns with two new episodes starting at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 5.

Shot on location in Atlanta, the series is a journey of love, self-discovery and brotherhood told from the Black male perspective but is inclusive of all men. The second season saw the series touch on hot-button topics including fatherhood, classism, and the ever-evolving relationship dynamics between Black men and women.

Big Freedia is redefining royalty with some New Orleans bounce.

The proclaimed “Queen of Bounce” has partnered with Netflix’s Strong Black Lead to create a “Hey Queen” bounce remix tied to the streamer’s forthcoming project, “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.” The music video debuted on Monday.

San Francisco, Aug 19 (Ians) Just four months after unveiling its much-anticipated pocket-sized drone camera Pixy, Snap is scrapping the development of its flying drone technology, media reports say.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel told employees at a Q&a session about the choice to no longer develop the Pixy line, citing the Wall Street Journal, The Verge reported.

A source told the publication the company plans to sell the current Pixy, and that model is still available for purchase on the Pixy website.

The report mentioned that, in an interview, Spiegel had teased that the company might consider a second iteration.

“The goal is really just to get it in people’s hands and have them play around with it,” he was quoted as saying.

“And maybe we would make more with version two if people love the original product,” it added.

CBS has entered the lifestyle programming sector with Dabl, a multi-platform network that will use the CBS station portfolio as the foundation of its linear launch on September 9.

The ad-supported network is cleared in 70% of the country, including all of the top 10 U.S. markets and 23 of the top 25.

Dabl (pronounced as “Dabble”) will feature what CBS calls “informative, project-based, feel-good content” across categories such as cooking, home renovation, design, do-it-yourself jobs, pets and travel. The network’s initial lineup will feature programming from Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse and other well-known lifestyle experts.

The new network joins several other recent ad-supported streaming network debuts at CBS, including Et Live and CBS Sports HQ. Ranking Roger, lead vocalist for British ska punk band the Beat – known as the English Beat in North America – and founding member of General Public, died on Tuesday. He was 56. Happy Thursday, Grey's Anatomy fans. Finally, some more news has broke regarding the current season 15 of your favorite show which is currently on a long, winter break hiatus. It turns out that they are going to bring an older, more mature lady into the mix at some point after the winter break is over. According to the folks over at TV Line.com , The Grey's Anatomy production crew has hired former Dirty Dancing actress Jennifer Grey to come on and play an assumed short story arc. Unfortunately, the ABC rep that TVLine spoke to refused to reveal any other details about Jennifer Grey's new role. So, we don't have a name for her character or what she'll be up to when she arrives. However, that has not stopped people from heavily speculating on who her character is. It's highly speculated that she could play character Jo Wilson's estranged mother.

Court TV is back in session. The cable TV channel that once carried gavel-to-gavel live coverage of high-profile trials will be revived by a new owner, nearly a dozen years after it was shuttered by Turner Broadcasting.

Katz Networks, a division of E.W. Scripps Co., plans to revive Court TV as a new channel designed to be distributed via local TV stations as a multicast offering as well as by MVPDs and streaming platforms starting in May. Katz has acquired the Court TV moniker and some 100,000 hours of vintage Court TV programming from Turner, now owned by At&T.

Vinnie Politan will return as a chief anchor of the channel, which promises 24/7 coverage of trials and legal issues. Also returning is producer John Alleva, a 15-year Court TV veteran who will oversee coverage with CNN alum Scott Tufts out of a newsroom under construction in Atlanta.

Karen Walker is bonding with a handmaid: Emmy winner Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale) has booked a guest arc on Will & Grace, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Wiley will play Nikki, a confident woman who gets Karen to open up about her love life while the two are snowed in at the office.

Court TV, the iconic TV brand known for broadcasting the trials of O.J. Simpson, the Menendez Brothers and Casey Anthony, will relaunch under its old name with a new backer.

Katz Networks, a unit of the E.W. Scripps Co. which operates multicast networks like Bounce, Escape and Grit, will relaunch Court TV in May 2019. Just as it did when it was owned by Turner Broadcasting, the network will be devoted to live, gavel-to-gavel coverage, legal reporting and expert analysis of trials across the country. Court TV’s 17-year run ended in 2008, when Turner rebranded it as truTV.

In order to pull off the reboot, Katz acquired Court TV’s intellectual property, including the trademark, website and 100,000-hour library from Turner. It also brought in original Court TV anchor Vinnie Politan as lead anchor and installed former Court TV and CNN producers John Alleva and Scott Tufts as vice presidents and managing editors.

John Marshall Jones (Smart Guy), Richard Burgi (General Hospital) and Heroes alum Adrian Pasdar have booked recurring roles on Grand Hotel, ABC’s drama series executive produced by Eva Longoria.

Written by Brian Tanen based on a Spanish format, Grand Hotel is a soapy drama set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering on the family who owns the business, the staff who run it and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior.

Jones will play Malcolm, husband to Mrs. P and father of Jason. Malcolm is the head of facilities at the Riviera Grand. He’s a loving family man who works hard to give his loved ones the life they deserve.

Burgi will portray Michael Finn. Owner of the Finn Hotel Group. Mr. Finn might seem charming, but this shrewd businessman’s presence in Miami Beach means trouble for the Mendoza family and the staff of the Riviera Grand.

Olivia Pope is on the move. Bounce has landed off-network rights to Scandal, the D.C.-fixer series starring Kerry Washington, and will air it weeknights starting Monday.

A new multiyear deal with Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International gives the Scripps-owned cable net rights to all seven seasons of the series that ended its seven-year ABC run in May. Washington earned a pair of Emmy noms for playing Pope, who ran a fixer agency that aided those who needed her services in the nation’s capital — all while having a covert affair with the president.

Exclusive: Imagine Entertainment chairmen Brian Grazer and Ron Howard have started an innovative offshoot program to supplement the films they make. In an effort to streamline the movie development process, they’ve thinned the ranks of creative executives and will instead empower entrepreneurial producers who ordinarily take their marching orders from those gatekeeper execs.

Imagine has begun a “Pod” system of producer deals that will start with Now You See Me producer Bobby Cohen, and Julie Oh, who in 2016 joined Imagine as New York-based vice presidents of development and will now be a producer there. Imagine’s core movie business will continue to be steered for Grazer and Howard by Karen Lunder, who in August was named Evp and empowered to oversee the projects that Grazer and Howard produce, and Howard directs.

Cohen, Oh, and several others who are in negotiations to join will come under the Imagine umbrella in producer deals.

Shortly after disgraced comedian Bill Cosby was found guilty on three counts of aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constand, Bounce TV has moved in to scrub repeats of his classic 1980s sitcom The Cosby Show.

“Effective immediately, Bounce is removing The Cosby Show from our schedule,” the digital network, owned by Katz Broadcasting, said in a statement.

Bounce TV, which airs a mix of original and acquired programming geared toward African American viewers, had been carrying The Cosby Show reruns since 2016. The sitcom, once ubiquitous on broadcast stations and cable networks as evergreen syndicated programming, started disappearing from the airwaves when the current wave of sexual assault accusations against the TV star started in 2015. He is now facing up to 30 years in prison.

The series is still available for streaming on Amazon. It is unclear whether the Svod platform will remove it from its lineup.

Days after Netflix fired Kevin Spacey from “House of Cards” and canceled an upcoming Louis C.K. standup special, both disgraced stars can still be found on the streaming service.

Five pre-existing Louis C.K. comedy specials, including this spring’s “Louis C.K. 2017,” continue to live on the site, available for viewing.

Meanwhile, four projects still pop up when searching for Spacey’s name, including “House of Cards” and the documentary “Now: In the Wings on a World Stage,” a behind the scenes look at Spacey starring in the Bridge Project production of “Richard III.”

That’s not to say that the streaming service isn’t taking a hit: Netflix scrapped plans to release the Spacey starrer “Gore,” a Gore Vidal biopic that had already finished shooting. And it may have to start over on Season 6 of “House of Cards,” with Robin Wright now as star, even though that show had already been shooting.
