Though critics did pan the movie in its era, this is one of the few movies which shows the famous "Yé-Yé" (pronounced "Yay-yay") era, in which TV shows like Shindig (USA) and "Salut les Copains" (France) received singing idols and performed over screaming fans. Joel Denis was host of one of these then-shows, "Jeunesse d'Aujourd'hui", which many 60s Quebec and sometimes France pop stars came to sing their latest hits.
One scene in the movie takes place in front of a TV studio in Montreal (the screaming mob crowd controlled by police on Joel Denis' arrival). This was the then former "CFTM 10" studio on Alexandre-de-Seve street in Montreal, which still exists and is part of the French "TVA Network" complex. The entrance was both for the studio audience and the TV staff at the time.
