While the majority of the time travel media adheres to the basic linear timeline concept, where minuscule changes of events and actions in the past can trigger massive changes to redefine the course of the future, the complexities of the linear progression of time set up the grandfather paradox, and so on and so forth. This not only makes for a much interesting discourse on the concept of time travel, but at the same time also increases difficulties for the creators to navigate through intricate challenges posed by the plot itself. To avoid such complications, the concept of a branched timeline has proven to be an effective shortcut in recent years, which is based on the idea that changes in the past don’t directly affect the future itself but instead create an alternate future. This is the basic precept of timeline-oriented shenanigans in Netflix’s recently released sci-fi thriller,...

For Millennials, Time Cut opens with perhaps the scariest cinematic moment of the year. For here is a slasher dealing in nostalgia for a bygone era, a time so long ago that you can now pointedly revive its fashion and music and cultural references as a wink-nudge counterpoint to the present day. That particular era? 2003. Time really does come for us all.
While the text card “April 13 2003” is likely to invoke more terror than anything else in the film, Time Cut remains a cheap and just-about-cheerful-enough 91-minute romp, with one or two interesting ideas among all the throwback references. This is the latest in the burgeoning ‘slash-up’ genre, taking the masked-killer horror trope and smashing it into another subgenre – and it comes with a script co-penned by one of the pioneers of the movement, Michael Kennedy, who co-wrote body-swap slasher Freaky, and the festive It’s A Wonderful Knife. Curiously, it...

When John Carpenter made the original “Halloween” in 1978, it was just another horror movie in a long line of horror movies. But the blockbuster success of this low-budget movie, about a masked killer murdering babysitters, made “Halloween” a cultural institution. The film spawned legions of imitators and codified the slasher genre as we still know it. And yet the official “Halloween” franchise has often struggled to meet the standard of the movie that inspired the craze. Let’s look back at all of these classic (and not so classic) horror movies, and see how they stack up.
Behold, all the “Halloween” movies ranked from worst to best.

Toys and Colors leads, but MrBeast is not far off
Toys and Colors pulled in 2.91 billion monthly views to lead all U.S.-based channels in our monthly ranking. As mammoth as that total is, two other American YouTube channels pulled in at least two billion views during the ninth month. One, J House jr., is a family channel just like Toys and Colors.

Among the diverse genres in cinema, horror has carved out a unique space, captivating audiences with its ability to evoke fear and suspense. Over decades, various sub-genres have emerged, each bringing something fresh to the table. One such innovative approach is the one-take horror film, with MadS being the latest addition to it.

As you are well aware, Henry Cavill is currently struggling to get back on track with his career, even though he has a large following and is incredibly well-liked. His tenure as Superman has ended as Gunn chose to replace him with David Corenswet.
Liam Hemsworth also succeeded him in the Witcher franchise. Although he is still finding work, his career is not progressing as one would expect.
And while The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare did fairly well, it was mostly thanks to Guy Ritchie’s vision than Cavill himself; at the same time, Argylle failed miserably and Cavill seemingly lost out on the role of James Bond, which he was a hot contender for.
While people are trying to find a reason for this, with many fans blaming other people – those around Cavill – after all these failures, we can now state what has become painfully obvious, and that is...

It’s hard to compare to the euphoria that’s experienced from a good graphic novel horror story. The Challenge fans came together to mourn the elimination of Goat Ct Tamburello in the most recent episode. In response, MTV gifted them what they referred to as a “deleted” scene from Season 40, Battle of the Eras. But fan’s response to the new clip may not have been what the network had in mind.

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras filming featured a heated altercation between castmates Chris “Ct” Tamburello and Theo Campbell.
However, due to editing, their explosive fight did not make it into the final cut for the aired episode.
During Episode 5, viewers saw Ct and Emily Schromm eliminated in an emotional and dramatic installment of MTV’s competition show.
That episode included a blowup between castmates Laurel Stucky and Cara Maria Sorbello. The latter revealed online that much of the other footage for the argument didn’t appear in aired scenes.
That’s entirely true for Ct and Theo’s clash, which occurred while the cast was traveling on the bus and featured castmates trying to intervene.
Recently, The Challenge released never-before-seen footage from the incident, allowing fans to see what happened.

Stephen Amell is very proud of the work he did in Arrow and has never shied away from sharing his belief that the Arrowverse wasn't given the respect it deserved by Warner Bros. executives.
The actor frequently campaigned for himself and his fellow actors on The CW to be part of the Dceu, something that was never the plan (no great surprise given the very clear line that the studio has always drawn between its big and small screen adaptations).
Catching up with Smallville alum Michael Rosenbaum, Amell reflected on working with prolific producer Greg Berlanti and talk soon turned to a possible Arrow revival.
"I mean I joked about it," he said, "because I think that it would be wonderful one these days to go back and do something that was in a medium where I could break bones and drop an F-bomb and just sort of go the 'hard R' [rating] version of Arrow.

Before Anna Sawai captivated audiences with her performance in Shōgun, the Emmy-winning breakout star had a career in a completely different realm. Sawai first made a name for herself as the lead vocalist of the J-Pop girl group Faky in 2013, a role she embraced shortly after her sophomore year in college.

However, despite embracing the spotlight from a young age, Anna Sawai’s transition from the vibrant world of J-Pop to the dramatic landscapes of Hollywood was neither straightforward nor easy. "Peacemaker" was a breath of fresh air to the DC Expanded Universe when it debuted, a fun, funny, and heartfelt superhero show that was both intimate and had high stakes. It was also a show with hilarious references to the rest of the DC world, like jokes about Aquaman and Green Arrow. In the season one finale, Peacemaker says that the hero of Star City "goes to brony conventions dressed as the back half of Twilight sparkling with a four-inch wide butthole drilled into the costume." It was funny in the context of that show, but one person who did not enjoy the joke was "Arrow" star Stephen Amell.
Speaking on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vliet, Amell was candid about his opinions on "Peacemaker" and the show's joke about Green Arrow. "That was a little unnecessary. I didn't f***ing appreciate that at all," the actor said. "Between...

There’s no stopping the expansion of the Sheridanverse, the sprawl of interconnected dramas about the American heartland created by actor-writer-director Taylor Sheridan. Having exploded into existence with Yellowstone, and grown to include 1883, 1923 and other generation-spanning spinoffs, the Sheridanverse has — perhaps inevitably — reached the realm of Las Vegas fine dining with the opening of the new Four Sixes Ranch Steakhouse, at Wynn. Just days after the limited-time pop-up opened its books, thousands of reservations and dozens of buyout requests came flooding in.
“We have seen incredible demand even before the doors open on September 16,” says Brian Gullbrants, COO of Wynn Resorts North America.
Four Sixes Ranch Steakhouse will take over the space occupied by Wynn’s breakfast and brunch restaurant, Tableau, every evening after Tableau closes for the day. The menu, built around beef sourced from Sheridan’s 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas — which he, along with a group of investors,...

Stephen Amell Gets Candid on Peacemaker's Green Arrow Joke: "That Was a Little Unnecessary" - Main Image
Stephen Amell recently shared his honest reaction over the Green Arrow joke in the first season of Peacemaker.
As most fans know, the James Gunn-created series was relentless in poking fun at other DC characters. The fan-favorite hero played by the actor in the beloved CW show was one of the targets of its jokes.
During a hilarious scene in the first season, Peacemaker took a jab at the hero and said, "That dude goes to brony conventions dressed as the back half of Twilight sparkling with a four-inch wide butthole drilled into the costume."

Stephen Amell has frequently spoken candidly about how he feels the Arrowverse wasn't given the respect it deserved by Warner Bros. The CW's lineup of DC TV shows was never incorporated into the Dceu and ultimately reached an unceremonious end with the cancellations of Batwoman and Legends of Tomorrow.
In Peacemaker season 1, John Cena's Christopher Smith took cheap shots at several DC superheroes, including Green Arrow. Confirming he was no fan of the Emerald Archer, the former Task Force X member said, "That dude goes to brony conventions dressed as the back half of Twilight sparkling with a four-inch wide butthole drilled into the costume."
Amell made it clear he didn't appreciate the jab when the episode aired and reiterated his frustrations during a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet.

Netflix has released its Netflix & Chills line up and it is packed with fun, spooky titles. There are horror movies and shows for everyone in the home, but let’s focus on what’s available for us big kids.
There’s no season horror fans love more than spooky season. This is when streaming platforms release the best in the genre! And few streamers do it like Netflix. Needless to say, if you want to be entertained with chills and thrills this Halloween season, you’re going to want to have a Netflix account. I love that Netflix considers spooky fans of all ages. For the kiddos, Netflix will release the animated movie The Bad Guys: Haunted Heist at the top of the month on Oct. 3. And on Oct. 17, older children can enjoy Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. But what about the older crowd? What is there to watch when the kids go to sleep?...

Anybody who came of age during peak Orlando Bloom — when the British actor became an impossibly pretty early 2000s sex symbol as the long-haired Legolas in “Lord of the Rings” or the swashbuckling Will Turner in “Pirates of the Caribbean” — will likely get a bit of whiplash watching the actor’s left-turn pivot in “The Cut.” A sports drama with traces of body horror in its veins, director Sean Ellis’ film roughs up Bloom’s spotless face with some prosthetics (seamlessly done by make-up designer Mark Coulier) to play an unnamed retired Irish boxer desperate for a second chance at stardom.
Private school educated and longterm partner of Katy Perry, Bloom isn’t exactly a natural choice for such a down-and-out type, but the broken nose and droopy eyelids he puts on do successfully dispel most of his inherent movie star glamor. And yet, watching the film, there’s something...

Mike Flanagan’s “Hush” is coming to home video on November 26 from Scream Factory, in a deluxe, four-disc 4K Uhd and Blu-ray set. The set was made in collaborator with Flanagan, Intrepid Pictures and Blumhouse.
According to the official release, this collector’s edition of the 2016 home invasion thriller “includes a newly restored 4K version of the film, supervised and approved by Director Mike Flanagan. Additionally, a new black-and-white version of the film, nicknamed the Shush Cut, with a new audio mix will be featured. This mix removes nearly all of the score, providing a different effect that is just as terrifying as the original. The Collector’s Edition offers extensive bonus content, including new audio commentaries and interviews with the filmmakers and cast, new feature-length picture-in-picture video commentary with Flanagan and the cast, and much more.” Get the full disc-by-disc rundown below.

Currently there is only one movie where Kylie Minogue is murdered by a masked madman, and then former Brat Packer Molly Ringwald swoops in to save the day. Of course that movie is none other than the horror obscurity Cut (2000). This hidden gem from Down Under popped up during the first slasher revival, which is a large reason as to why many critics deemed Kimble Rendall’s debut derivative. Not everyone felt this way, though; fans like myself saw past the timely surface qualities and found a movie that not only commented on slashers but also championed their existence. This was a rare sight at a time when the disparaging of horror was both trendy and excessive.
It would be something of a mistake to assume Cut is another mere copycat of Scream (1996). The inspiration for Rendall and writer Dave Warner’s movie is clear, yet the overall execution is rather different.

Streaming services have been struggling of late. What was initially a new medium of entertainment, one that a slew of production houses invested in heavily, has proven to be a short-term money-making gimmick rather than something that production houses would like to sustain long term.
Not only has it hurt home media sales, it has practically eradicated an entire line of revenue for films, making quite a few studios wonder if it is worth working with streaming at all.

Netflix’s Time Cut, a film that is described as Back to the Future meets Scream, is a telling sign of how content on streaming is dwindling, given that Amazon Prime has already done the concept. Fans are not impressed by Netflix’s attempt at bringing a concept that’s already been done by a rival service, calling out the creative bankruptcy of the service.

Sigourney Weaver says “Alien 3” studio 20th Century Fox and the film’s director David Fincher were on different planets while making the 1992 feature film.
Weaver told Deadline that a young Fincher, making his directorial debut, had to “fight every day” for his vision of the third franchise installment. The original “Alien” was directed by Ridley Scott; “Aliens” was directed by James Cameron. A pretty good pedigree there.
While Fincher no doubt felt pressure following in those footsteps, Weaver says the studio was “idiotic” to battle the newcomer for creative control.
“I could feel that David had to get on the phone and fight every day for us to shoot what he wanted to the next day. And I’m sorry that he didn’t get a chance to make the script his own before we started,” Weaver said. “That makes filmmaking very difficult.”

Days of our Lives spoilers on Thursday, August 29, point to danger around every corner as Ava, Gabi, and Connie take steps to get what they want, how they want it.
Show Me the Money
Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) is very, very angry at Stefan (Brandon Barash). Sure, he worked tirelessly to get her out of prison and loves her madly. But he also slept with Ava (Tamara Braun) while Gabi was away. And then lied about it.
Gabi wants Stefan to pay. And it’s not bad enough that she messed up his plans to blackmail Ej (Dan Feuerriegel — here’s what you need to know) and get to take over Dimera Enterprises. She wants him to suffer more, which doesn’t just mean leaving him. It means leaving him and taking him for every penny Stefan is worth. That will make Stefan sad. Who cares if it will do the same to Gabi?...

In 2022, The Flash star Ezra Miller was accused of grooming by multiple parties. Around the same time, there were also claims they'd assaulted people, harassed them, and potentially committed serious crimes like burglary and trespass.
The whole thing is pretty convoluted at this stage (The Cut has a pretty in-depth breakdown) but Miller has since said they're seeking treatment for "complex mental health issues."
Among the most serious allegations were those from parents Sara Jumping Eagle and Chase Iron Eyes; they were looking for a protective order from Miller on behalf of Gibson Iron Eyes, their child.
They claimed Miller had convinced them to send Gibson to Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts "to create a sense of indebtedness" and that the actor had plied Gibson with drugs and alcohol before physically abusing them.
Gibson denied the claims in a statement and accused their parents of "emotional and psychological manipulation" while defending Miller.

Suicide Squad was released in August 2016, just a few short months after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters. Zack Snyder's movie had a huge opening weekend (despite negative reviews), but a shocking second-weekend drop sent Warner Bros. into panic mode.
As a result, Suicide Squad received a drastic overhaul with the addition of colourful graphics, catchy pop songs, and a "happy ending" in place of the original, much darker dynamic between The Joker and Harley Quinn.
While the #ReleaseTheAyerCut movement has never been quite as popular as #ReleaseTheSnyderCut - which ultimately led to Zack Snyder's Justice League dropping on HBO Max - a great many fans are desperate to see David Ayer's original version of Suicide Squad.
The filmmaker continues to talk about that on social media and has shared several glimpses of what might have been.

Despite its ups and downs, I’ve always respected the Alien franchise for daring to try something new with every new entry. From Vietnam allegories to reimagining Chariots of the Gods as a Lovecraftian origin story for the Xenomorphs, the series challenges the very concept of genre as it explores what might go wrong when humanity comes into contact with a truly perfect organism.
And with Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus paying homage to the most underrated movie in the franchise during its horrific final act, today I’d like to look back on Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s unfairly maligned Alien: Resurrection and dive into why I think this oddball gem of a film deserves more love.
Like many sequels, the story of Resurrection begins soon after the release of its predecessor. Desperate for a course-correction after the grimdark prison story of Alien³ left audiences feeling frustrated, Fox attempted to recruit established filmmakers like Danny Boyle,...

After a summer holiday and some postal delays, I am finally back covering all things Adamantium-laced. Although there are only two books to cover this month, I feel enough time has passed that I can do a Wolverine-centric review of Deadpool and Wolverine complete with spoilers.
Life of Wolverine #1 Writer: Jim Zub | Artist: Ramon F. Bachs | Colourist: Java Tartaglia | Letters: Joe Sabino
This originally came out as a digital-first comic in ten parts, during the X Lives/Deaths mini-series. It makes perfect sense for Marvel to release this as a print comic when they did. It is a simple one-shot that can appeal to a cross-section of fans. Obviously, you have the hardcore Wolverine fans like myself who will pick anything up. It also helps bridge the gap between the ongoing series ending and the next one starting. Then there are the casual fans who might be interested in reading...

Release the Schumacher Cut!

But the Schumacher Cut of Batman Forever is a thing, a longer and darker version of the 1995 sequel based on director Joel Schumacher‘s original intentions, and according to Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the script with Lee Batchler and Janet Scott Batchler, the Schumacher Cut almost saw the light of day.

The Ultimate Cut, out this week, is the latest attempt to deliver the true version of the infamous 1979 sword and scandal epic, Caligula.
Does a great version of Caligula really exist? Ever since its star Malcolm McDowell went on television, imploring viewers not to go to the cinema and see it it in 1979, there have been those who’ve championed the period epic as a would-be masterpiece – a film with literary and artistic underpinnings that was brought low by a greedy pornographer and an editing room full of people who simply failed to understand what it was they were cutting together. McDowell himself has long said that there’s a brilliant film in Caligula, which was widely castigated by critics on its release, if only someone could go back and find it hidden among all the reels of footage.
Forty-five years later, that’s what filmmaker Thomas Negovan has done:...

For the last two decades, one Zack Snyder film after another, from “300” to “Army of the Dead,” reveled in the use of visual effects to expand the limits of the worlds the filmmaker aimed to create. Unfortunately, it seems his most recent outings, “Rebel Moon: Part One — Director’s Cut” and “Rebel Moon: Part Two — Director’s Cut,” may have finally exhausted his interest in the technology. Speaking in a wide-ranging interview with The Hollywood Reporter in regards to these films and other upcoming projects, Snyder shared his desire to scale-back his style.
“I’m a little tapped out on the visual effects world right now,” he said. “I love it, don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge fan, but I would love to do something a little bit more organic.”
Earlier in the interview, he discussed the announcement of a “300” prequel series in the works at...

Dylan Sprouse wasn’t having it.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody recalled the time he was required to say an uncomfortable joke during a Thursday visit to SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live. Sprouse said he refused to say a scripted fat joke about co-star and TV mom Kim Rhodes when she was pregnant.
“ just don’t really think fat jokes are funny,” Sprouse said. “There’s a better joke somewhere else, unless you’re talking about yourself. Unless it’s self-referential, which I find is fun, but if you’re pointing the finger at people and talking about how they look, I just don’t tend to find that very funny in general. I think there’s better jokes.”
By Sprouse’s estimation, he was about 14 or 15 when the incident occurred.
Cohen asked how he pushed back against an executive producer.

“…delve further into the mythology and madness of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga in the world of ‘Rebel Moon — Chapter One: Chalice of Blood’ and ‘Rebel Moon – Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness’.
“In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened…
“…by the armies of the tyrannical ‘Regent Balisarius’, while ‘Kora’ (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
”Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the ‘Motherworld’…
“…Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war who share a common need for redemption and revenge.

One thing I like about Heidi Klum is that she always has the perfect outfit for every occasion. At the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2024, she ate and didn’t leave any crumbs!
Knowing full well that the event celebrates the top choices of kids and teens, the Making the Cut host was aptly dressed, turning heads in a fun and colorful neon outfit by Dawid Tomaszewski.
Klum’s dress flawlessly embodies the signature style of the Polish art fashion designer, renowned for combining cutting-edge style with fine craftsmanship and quality.

The annual awards ceremony’s slime ritual captures the essence of being a carefree child and having fun, much like Heidi Klum’s Dawid Tomaszewski dress does.

Ghost of Tsushima was the perfect swan song for the PlayStation 4 era and gave the gaming community a smooth transition to move from one console to another with an outstanding Director’s Cut. The game was released four years ago and the developers released a patch with needed features.
Massive open-world games are hard to perfect but Sucker Punch Productions passed with flying colors with this ambitious period piece. Players were enamored with the complex combat system and powerful narrative and appealed to the online community through the Legends game mode.
Ghost of Tsushima Legend Players Can Play with Friends on Other Platforms
Sucker Punch Production went a long way from working on the Infamous franchise to this samurai tale and the developers fired on all cylinders that were received with universal praise from the gaming community. Despite all the controversies surrounding the PlayStation Network, Ghost of Tsushima was the...

A new listing has revealed the existence of Napoleon: The Director’s Cut, from Apple and Ridley Scott. More here.
The latest update from the classification and rating administration of the Motion Picture Association of America has brought with it apparent confirmation that there’s more Napoleon on the way.
Ridley Scott’s latest film until his next one – which happens to be this winter’s Gladiator 2 – starred Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby. It was a pretty decent movie too, which cost Apple a reported $200m to make. Certainly the staging of the battle sequences was prime Ridley, even if some other stuff wasn’t.
Not for the first time in Scott’s career – Blade Runner, Kingdom Of Heaven, The Counsellor, Robin Hood, the list goes on – there’s an extended version of one of his films getting an airing. This, interestingly, is seemingly being billed as the Napoleon: Director’s Cut.

For much of the last year, Ken Jennings has been the sole host of Jeopardy! This happened after the game show had hired Ken and Mayim Bialik to split the hosting duties. However, after a series of behind-the-scenes events, Ken took over as the sole host.
Now, Jeopardy! is finally making things official, at least publically.
Jeopardy! Finally Removed Mayim Bialik From Promotions
After Jeopardy! removed Mayim Bialik from her position as co-host, things got a little spicy. Mayim publically commented on it, and it was clear this was not a decision the show made in conjunction with its former star. However, Jeopardy! kept using Mayim in its promotions for the show.
Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik – Jeopardy!
That has finally ended and it seems that the game show has finally officially cut all ties with the former star. Mayim has finally been removed from the post-YouTube clips where she was with Ken Jennings,...
