The movie is remake of Akira Kurosawa's Rashomon.
In 1950, Akira Kurosawa shocked an international audience with the vibrancy and innovation of his masterpiece Rashomon. The plot, based on a short story by Ryunosuke Akatagawa, concerned eyewitness accounts of a rape and a murder, each being drastically different from the last. In this go around, Kurosawa's masterwork is remade into a star vehicle for two of Asia's most popular leading men.
