Aside a high rating this picture is less accurate as supposedly being the true over Maria Déa history just named as Maria Bonita after her death!!

As an eager worldwide and Brazilian historian, "Maria Bonita Rainha (Queen) do Cangaço" I'll explain in a few intro drove to foreigners readers that such fact was really happened at Northeast at Brazil, the phenomenon self-called "Cangaço" summarized starts in 19th century around 1887 when had a longest drought on these arid states where have an endemic greenery entitled as Caatinga as sort a savanna on Africa as a benchmak, after this drought a extreme poverty has befallen on the poorest people that starts invading the great farmers in search for food and meat, then those great landowners Colonels as their self-entitled stablished countless militiamen on those states to defending their properties, the Jargon Cangaço occurred due this men used to carry on their guns at his own shoulders (Canga in Brazil) then arouse the name Cangaço.

In this environment of fear and vacuum of official state these groups spreading in the whole Northeast, around 1914 Virgulino Ferreira da Silva due his father was murdered in unknown bleak circumstances, so Virgulino enters in the gang of Mr. Pereira that over the advices of Priest Cícero left the group leaving the leadership in charge of the tamed and clever Lampião (Lantern) whose Virgulino was commonly knew at its time, as expose along the picture he really has an female companion before meeting Maria Bonita (Beauty Maria), however this girl was there for be kidnapped only, although the picture didn't explained it properly, also Maria Bonita wasn't never called as Maria Bonita, it starts after his death in 1938 for the tabloids from Rio de Janeiro that labeled Maria for good, his real name was Maria Gomes de Oliveira called by the Lampião group as just Maria Déa.

Maria Déa was born in little farmer of his father in Bahia countryside. Maria Déa was already married with his cousin named Zé de Neném for prodding of his father, often running to his father farmer, there she meets Lampião really, instead as exposed in the movie, also for her own free choice decides joint in Lampião gang as his lover, breaking a rule whom no girl should keep with up the gang in those wilderness persecuted by local police and their riots on those small villages, towns and farmers, Lampião according reliable sources was entitled as Captain of Brazilian Army by a alleged federal surveyor that upon a gun was forced make a letter that assuring that Lampeão is hereinafter is Captain to their commanders, it's appears exactly on the movie, and the fatal outcome at Angicos in Sergipe state as displayed in the movie., the remainder is history.

Another criminal fail was shooting nearby Rio Bonito countryside of Rio de Janeiro instead in Northeast where all happenings took place, it's somehow spoils and scratch the movie due both landscapes are totally opposite, in Rio Bonito a tempered zone, meanwhile in Bahia and outskirts states are extremely dry season on those hinterlands referred as Caatinga, in other hand the writers displayed Lampião as religious man regarding by strong influence of famous Priest Cícero that learning him a prayer to avoid their enemies kill him, also claims himself as closed body, when anyone is able to kill him whatsoever.

    Thanks for reading.
