The students who perform the "Hand-Jive" dance at the end of each fifth program were allowed to do the "Hand-Jive" by the producers, as it was the final thing they did before they went home.
In 1987, the opening title sequence was replaced by a new opening title sequence, which was inspired by the classic futuristic thriller Blade Runner (1982), which flying hexagons are seen flying above a futuristic city. The new title sequence remained until the final show of "Blockbusters" in 1993.
The 1989 Blockbusters Annual featured behind the scenes photo of how the title sequence which hexagons are flying above a futuristic cityscape was filmed.
