The very first locally produced English sitcom in Singapore.
Dr. Frank, Daisy Matthews' (Daisy Irani) long-term love interest, is played by Daisy Irani's real-life husband Subin Subaiah.
In Season 3, the character of Adam is introduced as Denise's boyfriend. In real life, Mark Richmond, who portrayed Adam, and Vernetta López who portrayed Denise, married in 1997, but the marriage ended in 2003.
The Singaporean Government put the show under pressure to use proper English and reduce its use of "Singlish"--a use of Singaporean slang mixed with English--for fear that the standard of spoken English would drop because young school viewers picked up too much "Singlish".
In 2011 the show was dubbed in French, making it the first-ever Singaporean-produced English sitcom to be dubbed into a foreign language.
