The story of this game is largely based upon the Discworld novels "Reaper Man" and "Moving Pictures" by Terry Pratchett.
In Act 2, try using the special effects imp on Rincewind for a rather strange result.
Also in Act 2, if you enter and exit the magic stone circle ten times, Rincewind takes a trip back in time to meet his counterpart in 'Discworld (1995) (VG)'.
Despite being released only one year after the previous game, the quality of the graphics is much higher.
The game manual contains a foreword by Terry Pratchett saying "This the second Discworld game. What do you mean, 'I haven't finished the first one yet?' Good grief, some people..." and then he gives some brief instructions on how to complete the previous game. At the end of the foreward Pratchett writes "We've made DWII a little easier (snigger)".
