"The Love Box" is one of the more tedious examples of '70s smut I've seen. IMDb doesn't list it as a comedy - it doesn't list it as anything - and this is correct; there's nothing in it that could be taken as funny: none of the usual silly music and people falling over or nakedness used as a punchline. But it's not a straight-ahead porno either.
Judged as mere softcore, which really only requires nudity from attractive people, it gets off to a very shaky start, with clips featuring women who really aren't all that great to look at, and men with zero charisma.
The story is something about a personal column, which I guess must be called The Love Box, and dalliances set up through its pages. There's a young man, the actor looking bewildered and uncomfortable, who sets out to lose his virginity to an older woman, and of course the inevitable wife swapping. I can't remember much of the others, as this was a pretty tedious movie; there was some trendy guy who seemed to be bedding three or four women at once, though how a personal column made this happen is a detail I missed. Lastly there were frustrated housewives who converge on some gigolo who really didn't look attractive enough for that line of work.
The movie ends in a weird sequence of hippy dippy nakedness and frolicking that seemed to come out of nowhere, and only bore relation to the rest of the movie in the fact that it featured nudity, and nevertheless was still like watching paint dry.
If you want softcore from the swinging '60s and early '70s, I had a much better time with "Some Like It Sexy", which features the marvelous Collinson twins. "The Lovebox" is only for desperate times.
