Martin Landau and Udo Kier are the only actors from The Adventures of Pinocchio (1996) to reprise their roles. Every other character was recast for this film.

For unknown reasons, the character of Leona (Geneviève Bujold) is not mentioned in the film.
Gabriel Thomson played the title role, replacing Jonathan Taylor Thomas. This change was due to the fact that at that time Jonathan Taylor Thomas had already grown enough being 17 years old, considering him too old for the role of Pinocchio.
