Plot :A Prompter in a theater,Jules, is in love with a beautiful dancer but his occupation is not enough for her .She longs for a man with good prospects .His friend, a doctor ,has a date in a mysterious house in Bougival but eventually he leaves the place to Jules : a godsend!.The rejected suitor can entertain his flame in a stately mansion ;unfortunately ,a woman's dead body is found in the place and he's the main suspect. Then begins an interminable questioning with a petulant stubborn judge and a deaf female lawyer ; as for the dancer,she is now proud of her suitor ,now a strangler ,a celebrity.
A martyr indeed ; the cast ,ceaselessly overacting,shouting and hamming it up is really painful to watch .The screenwriters did not seem to make up their mind : a tiring farce or a thriller cum whodunit .They lose on both accounts .Even Jeanne Fusier-Gir as the spinster -lawyer is given lousy lines .
It's agony watching that!
