Make way for (Prince?) Ali!
Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 5 finally took us to Agrabah, for some Arabian nights and Savior revelations.
We discovered that there is a way to sever the Savior bond, using a tiny pair of shears, and that Aladdin used it. Emma sent Killian to get rid of the shears, but he instead hid them in his pocket.
Elsewhere in the hour, the Evil Queen convinced Zelena to showcase her wicked side again, and Emma confessed that her death is coming.
Did we love Aladdin? How long will Zelena stay wicked? Which character stole the show? Join TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Steve Ford, Robin Harry, and Caralynn Lippo, along with Once Upon a Fan's Teresa Martin, as they talk about “Street Rats!”
What are your thoughts on Aladdin?
Allison: I liked him. My favorite scene of his was the one between him and Emma in the crypt.

On June 15th one of the most recognizable voices in radio and television died, succumbing to lingering complications of Lewy Body Dementia. At 82 years of age the legendary Casey Kasem passed on to the next level of existence.
For America it was a sad day. Despite the fact that hordes of the younger generations couldn’t speak on the man’s accomplishments, they know his voice when they hear it. And we know it too. The longtime, hardcore, deeply rooted genre fans know Kasem for his prolific run as the eventual pop-culture standout character Shaggy Rogers, of the timeless “Scooby-Doo” series.
Shaggy was one of (if not the) first animated stoners to hit commercial television. Hanna-Barbera Productions – to my knowledge, which is creepily thorough in all honesty – never stepped out of the shadows to make it known that Shaggy was a major weed-head (totally expected and for quite obvious reasons...

The release of The Jungle Book on Blu-ray today has become, as when Saving Mr. Banks was unveiled a couple months ago, an unplanned forum on a most thorny issue for the Disney uber-fan: was Walt Disney a racist/sexist/anti-Semite, and if so, was he a super-racist/sexist/anti-Semite, or just your average, garden-variety racist/sexist/anti-Semite? Even though the 1967 animated film based loosely on a collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling opened months after Disney passed away, this was the last film on which he had any serious impact. And, since Meryl Streep chose to make her speech applauding Emma Thompson for her performance as P.L. Travers in Saving Mr. Banks as much about exactly how bad a man Walt Disney was, the issue of his true personal feelings–whatever those may have been–and whether or not they crept into the films he made has become unavoidable as of late.

It's hard to believe it's been 20 years since Disney's "Aladdin" first opened. When it hit theaters back in 1992, it became the highest-grossing movie of the year. To celebrate the film's 20th Anniversary, we've unearthed 25 things you might not know about the Disney classic. From other actors who were considered for roles, to the rapper who inspired Aladdin's style, let's take a look back at some of the lesser known facts about the film. 1. John Candy, Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, Martin Short, John Goodman, and Albert Brooks were all considered at one point to provide the voice of the Genie. 2. Voice actor Frank Welker provided the chattering sounds of Abu, just as he did for the Nazi monkey in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and TV's Curious George. He also voices Scooby-Doo. 3. In early character sketches, Aladdin resembled Michael J. Fox. However, Disney honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg suggested they make Aladdin into more of a "hunk,...

Growing up in the 1960s, I first heard “Shazam” from the lips of Gomer Pyle, Usmc and only later learned it had something to do with a defunct character, Captain Marvel. When I then saw ads in the comics for a Saturday morning series called Shazzan, I was confused, thinking it was somehow connected. Nope, the CBS series created by the great Alex Toth and produced by Hanna-Barbera and had the following narration:
“Inside a cave off the coast of Maine, Chuck (Jerry Dexter) and Nancy (Janet Waldo) find a mysterious chest containing the halves of a strange ring. When joined, the ring forms the word “Shazzan!” and with this magical command, they are transported back to the fabled land of the Arabian Nights. Here they meet their Genie, Shazzan (Barney Phillips). Shazzan presents them with Kaboobie (Don Messick), a magical flying camel. Shazzan will serve them whenever they call,...
