Ajay Devgn, On An Average, Delivered 7 – 8 Films In A Year(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Ajay Devgn has kickstarted this year with great numbers in his supernatural horror flick Shaitaan. The film, which opened at 15.21 crore, has maintained a good hold over the week as well. This will be a moral booster for his upcoming films. The actor is ready with as many as four more releases at the box office.
However, there was once a time when the actor used to frequently drop 7 – 8 films a year. While he delivered 8 films in a year twice, he also delivered 7 films a year twice. His third best was obviously delivering 6 films a year, still better than actors in today’s era.
However, how these films worked at the box office actually brings forth the reality. Out of the 8 films he delivered twice, none was a hit. In fact, even when he delivered 7 films a year twice,...

Baadshaho
Starring Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Sanjay Mishra, Ileana d’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jamwal
Directed by Milan Luthria
If you are looking for a film that is unintentionally funny because it takes itself so seriously you would think the end-result would be a heist film on a par with Vijay Anand’s Jewel Thief or at least Milan Luthria’s Kachche Dhaage, then look again.
This is no Oceans 11. Baadshaho is a class apart. Seldom have I come cross a screenplay so absurd and bombastic it qualifies among the most deplorably written feasts of fatuousness in recent times. Making it worse are the performance. So pretentious and hammy are the actors it would be an insult to good taste to call them actors.
Topping the list of performing travesties is Ileana D’Cruz. Playing what looks like a Gayatri Devi lookalike she gives what could possibly rank among the...

Director Milan Luthria faced a unique challenge during the making of his upcoming multi starrer film ‘Baadshaho’ that features considerable action sequences on the road.
Except Ileana D’Cruz, all of his lead star cast including Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra were required to drive old jeeps, pick-up trucks, armored truck, motorcycles and even cars that were used in Rajasthan in the 1970s. Under the able guidance of Ajay Devgn, who has earlier driven such vehicles in ‘Kachche Dhaage’, the actors were able to home their skills very soon.
For training the cast, who found it difficult maneuvering the vehicles, Milan Luthria had flown in the German action crew for the car sequences. They also spent weeks modifying the engines, handbrakes, clutches and transmission to make sure that the vehicles performed as required.

The teaser of Milan Luthria’s upcoming film Baadshaho starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra has made a powerful impact among moviegoers. From the high-octane action stunts, to the background score to the locales – everything about the teaser has caught the audience’s attention. The film which is set during the Emergency period in 1975 has also created a lot of curiosity about the film. Well, what’s interesting is that the idea of Baadshaho came to Milan while he was shooting for Kachche Dhaage with in Rajasthan.
Milan revealed, “I got the story idea of Baadshaho on the sets of Kachche Dhaage when a distributor friend of mine dropped in on the sets (Kachche Dhaage) in Rajasthan and told me about what happened in various places in the state during Emergency. The raids that were conducted on several royal families for non declaration of wealth.

Bhushan Kumar and Milan Luthria’s joint production Baadshaho kicked off with a song recording today. The film is rumoured to be inspired by a true incident involving a raid on a Royal family of Rajasthan, which had an enmity with the political leadership during the Emergency of 1975.
Milan has given outstanding music in all his films from Kachche Dhaage to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture. Music baron Bhushan Kumar whose label T Series presents Baadshaho with Milan Luthria Films, was thrilled to start with a song recording.
Baadshaho is reportedly a multi starrer, but Milan and Bhushan refuse to comment on anything except that the film will release on Republic Day 2017.
Milan Luthria says, “This is an Explosive idea, based loosely on true events that transpired during the Emergency. The action and music are rustic and set in Rajasthan.

Whilst we already received a few glimpses of Ajay Devgn's ambitious venture Shivaay, his other film with Milan Luthria, Baadshaho is gearing up for its first step. The film will kick start on January 15 with a song recording. This particular date holds a special importance since Milan and Ajay Devgn launched their first collaboration, the film Kachche Dhaage on the same day. Baadshaho was announced almost a year ago but the film had to suffer delays due to few reasons and Milan had to rewrite the script. The film was supposed to go on floor before Shivaay but despite all the setbacks, now it is back on track. Thrilled with the news about the film, director Milan Luthria said, "This is an explosive idea, based loosely on true events that transpired during the Emergency. Wanna know who is the 'hero' of Moushumi Chatterjee's life, the Bengali beauty, who ruled the 70's with hit films like Anuraag, Roti, Kapada Aur Makaan, Benaam, Kachche Dhaage, Angoor etc. Recently she shared screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in her come back vehicle Piku.
Well, frankly speaking for every married woman it is her husband, who is her 'Hero' but for Moushumi Chatterjee it was her father-in-law Hemant Kumar, the famous singer, music director and filmmaker because besides playing the role of a godfather in shaping her career in films both Bengal and Bollywood, he taught her the urbane living style of Mumbai when young Moushumi Chatterjee (who just 15 years) married his son and came to Mumbai.
In an interview Moushumi Chatterjee candidly confessed, "My 'Hero' is none other but my father-in-law, whom, I fondly called 'Baba' (Hemant Kumar)."

Milan Luthria is all set to work with his favorite actor Ajay Devgn yet again in his & Bhushan Kumar’s joint production & venture Baadshaho. We have heard that the director was keen to add the local flavor of each city in its own unique way – The film will be shot extensively in Punjab, and when he suggested the same to Bhushan, the latter gave him full support, which will include a unique rustic flavor of places like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Bhatinda and Jalandhar
The film, which will be shot extensively in the Northern parts of India, will have the Director give the audiences the local feel of Punjab, right from the folk music, which plays an integral part of the film, to the local top musicians of the state, we will see an all together new Punjabi culture which has not been seen on the big screen yet! Together, they changed the destiny of Bengali popular songs. The Bengali songs of Lata Mangeshkar composed by Salil Choudhary changed the entire profile and personality of the popular film song in Bengal. And now 19 years after the composing maestro's death, Lataji who turns 85 on September 28 recorded a newly-discovered tune by Salilda under the musical supervision of the singer's protege composer Mayuresh Pai. Says Lataji, "Salilda was Salilda. No one could compose songs like him. His tunes were layered and textured and very difficult to sing. I loved the challenge of singing Salilada's 'Raaton Ke Saaye Ghane' in Annadata and 'Rajnigandha Phool Tumhare' on Rajnigandha." Folklore has it that once during a particularly difficult recording of a song composed by Salil Chowdhury, Lataji had passed out. She laughs, "It's a fact. I did faint while singing one of his songs. Salilda's tunes were a special challenge for me. And the fact...
