I saw this on U.N.C.-TV 2 years ago and was moved by the tale and the way it was told. This an excellent example of documentary video making.
A young white male is swept up in the hatred of his father's generation and commits arson, burning two black churches to the ground in SC lowcountry. This film/video is an excellent portrait of people torn apart by the forces of racism in the 1990's. The filmmakers effectively create a moving narrative, weaving the confession of the young convict, reactions of his relatives with the responses of the victims.
I don't know if you can rent this video at your local store, but you might be able to order a copy from either U.N.C.-TV or S.C.E.T.V. This would be an excellent teaching aid for racism workshops. It doesn't simply demonize the Klan, but shows their ignorance and that even Klansmen can mend their ways.
