Casa Aramara’s owner is currently in the spotlight, but this isn’t the high-end vacation rental’s first star turn.

A judge ruled that profits from Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis’s sprawling oceanfront escape in Punta de Mita, Mexico, will be withheld until he’s paid back over $2 million he fraudulently transferred to support the estate. According to court documents obtained by People and first reported by The Blast, a judge granted a request by the trustee in Francis’ bankruptcy case to put all profits from Casa Aramara into a trust until the debt is repaid.

Netflix has been seeing some huge success with their original programming over the last several years and as of late they have been making a big push to get into the film game as well. The streaming service just closed a deal at Cannes to distribute a new action/thriller called Wheelman that has Captain America and The Purge star Frank Grillo attached to star in and produce. Netflix reportedly closed the deal for $10 million, with filming set to begin later this year.

Grillo will be reteaming with Joe Carnahan, who directed him in The Grey alongside Liam Neeson, though Carnahan will be on as a producer as opposed to a director for Wheelman. Instead, the relatively unknown Jeremy Rush will be directing from a script he wrote himself. The synopsis for the film echoes a similar tone to films like Drive and Getaway.

Who’S It For? Those who like their amount of real-life romance equaled to their sexual comedy, even if the sum is a bit underwhelming. And similarly, those who can look past a terribly made film.

Overall

Featuring three main performers from 2012′s Think Like a Man, About Last Night has a few credible moments within its story. With disturbing misfortune, they are amongst an experience of bad filmmaking. For sake of not losing my readership off the bat, I’ll save that tangent for later, and will at least start with what works here.

As we bid farewell to a year of unbelievable cinema, Hollywood truly gave the masses such diverse choices from which to plunk down their hard earned dollars for. Assuredly it was a record-breaking year at the global box office as well. According to the La Times, 2013 ticket sales reportedly are projected to reach $10.9 billion. We still love going to the movies… especially the popular ones.

However, there’s always a few that we can’t quite avoid as well as a number of films that just disappoint. Our list for this year’s “worst films” seems to be chock-full of extremely disappointing titles.

Dishonorable Mention: Gangster Squad

Even Ryan Gosling in some vintage suits and Emma Stone in a sexy red dress couldn’t help this by the books gangster flick. All style and no substance is the name of this tune that we’ve heard and seen perform much better before.

Last year Disney dealt with John Carter, this year it’s The Lone Ranger – it’s safe to say people were fired. Variety has published a list of the Biggest Bombs of 2013, and there are not a lot of surprises here if you keep up with the financial goings-on and box office results of the movies, everyone does that right? Harrison Ford was in two of them, so yes, he will sign on for more Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies thank you very much.

WikiLeaks drama The Fifth Estate, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Julian Assange, has been named the year's biggest movie disappointments by experts at financial magazine Forbes.

Bill Condon's film about the early years of the whistleblowing site was tipped for awards season success prior to hitting cinemas. With the up-and-coming Cumberbatch in the lead, an Oscar-winning director and highly topical theme it had seemed like a shoo-in. But the film bombed with critics and later flopped at the box office. It has so far returned a mere $6m (£3.6m) of its relatively meagre $28m (£17.1m) budget, according to Forbes, a percentage of just 21%.

It seems every few months comes another movie about celebrity obsession and/or the perils of being on the internet, and very few have anything original to say. Which brings us to "Open Windows," an upcoming thriller that looks like a remake of "Getaway" with a laptop instead of a car. Written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo, who seems on the precipice of tossing out the goodwill earned by "Timecrimes" and "Extraterrestrial," the film follows a superfan nerd (Elijah Wood) of an attractive actress (Sasha Grey, in another attempt at regular acting with her clothes mostly on) who misses out on a chance to meet her. Highland Films Group has acquired international sales rights to Eugenio Derbez’s comedy Instructions Not Included on the back of its extraordinary Us debut over Labor Day weekend.

The Spanish-language film launched at number four over the three-day portion of the session on $7.8m from 348 theatres through Pantelion, the joint venture between Lionsgate and Mexico’s Televisa.

Instructions Not Included scored the top per-site average of the weekend and opened ahead of such titles as Warner Bros’ new release Getaway and the second weekend of The Mortal Instruments.

Highland’s Delphine Perrier and Arianne Fraser negotiated the rights deal with Televisa and the company also represents Pulling Strings, the next film from Televisa/Pantelion that will open in the Us on Oct 4.

The Toronto slate includes Barely Lethal starring Jessica Alba, Samuel Jackson and Hailee Steinfeld set to commence production on Oct 17.

Today's MPAA ratings bulletin is a little busier than some of those we've seen recently and even includes an R-rating for Alexander Payne's Nebraska which Paramount will be appealing. If I remember correctly there are a couple uses of the word "f**k" but nothing else. If I had a guess the R-rating for some language will soon be changed to a PG-13 rating for some strong language.
