There may be a massive surplus of films and TV shows that tell the story of Jesus, but The Chosen has made history by being the first multi-season series about the prominent Christian figure. The show boasts an impressive cast of characters played by a number of talented actors, many of whom have had previous experience with other biblical-themed projects. The Chosen tells the story of Jesus of Nazareth, his life and works, and the people who knew him. While closely following biblical texts, the series isn’t afraid to take dramatic liberties without smearing the importance of its message.
The show premiered in 2017 and was instantly beloved by faith-based audiences, with The Chosen episodes even screening in movie theaters and raking in massive box office grosses. The Chosen season 5 is confirmed, and will center on Holy Week, the final days before Jesus' crucifixion. It's unknown how much of the Bible the show will cover,...

The battle of the billionaires may soon be getting bloody, as Mark Zuckerberg has accepted Elon Musk’s challenge to a cage fight, with the Facebook founder ready to hit Musk where it hurts the most – and we’re not talking about the wallet.
This particular part of the Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg storyline stems from Zuckerberg apparently planning a “Twitter rival” called Threads. Musk took to, well, Twitter to address the situation with, “I’m sure Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb with no other options. At least it will be “sane”. Was worried there for a moment.” This quickly spiraled, with Musk responding to learning of Zuckerberg’s love of jiu-jitsu with, “I’m up for a cage match if he is lol.” Uh, Elon, do you have any idea what a bow and arrow choke feels like?
This is Zuck’s story on insta right now.

In Pixar’s new animated short-form series, “Cars on the Road” (currently streaming on Disney+), creator/director and animator Steve Purcell puts Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) on a cross-country trek full of cinematic nostalgia. The stops include homages to the stop-motion dinosaurs of Ray Harryhausen, the Overlook Hotel from “The Shining,” and retro sci-fi movies.
“We wanted to send them on a road trip [to the wedding of Mater’s sister], and make it so that each place they stop was its own mini-adventure,” Purcell told IndieWire. “And that afforded us a lot of opportunity to create all these different, interesting locations, each with its own sensibility, style of music.”
Producer Marc Sondheimer added that in spite of the series’ short-form nature, it still contains 65 minutes of content. And it’s tied together in episodic form. “The launch of Disney+ afforded us a different form factor to tell these stories in...

Paramount Plus is taking a page from ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV streaming service with the launch of 18 linear channels that let subscribers surf through always-on themed collections of shows — just like old-fashioned television.
On Thursday, Paramount Plus launched Live Channels, a new feature that curates popular shows and movies on the service in linear channels, pulled from ViacomCBS properties including CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and the Smithsonian Channel as well as from other sources.
The themed “live” channels, streaming 24 hours per day, feature the service’s most-streamed genres, such as Kids & Family Fun, Crime & Justice and Reality TV: Competitions, as well as fan-favorite franchises such as “Star Trek,” “SpongeBob SquarePants” and “Paw Patrol.”
Paramount Plus is adopting the linear TV-style model pioneered by Pluto TV, which Viacom acquired in early 2019. Tom Ryan, founder of Pluto TV, was elevated to president and CEO of ViacomCBS Streaming a year ago.

Tony Hale’s cartoon chicken Archibald is moving from Netflix to Peacock for “Archibald’s Next Big Thing Is Here.”
Netflix ran two seasons of a series titled “Archibald’s Next Big Thing,” which will continue streaming on that platform. This new season — which is technically a new series based on Hale’s feathery character — consists of six episodes, which will launch Feb. 18 on NBCU’s Peacock.
Per “Archibald” studio DreamWorks Animation, “Archibald’s Next Big Thing Is Here” is the next chapter for Archibald Strutter, a chicken who “yes-and’s” his way through life. While his adventures don’t always go as planned, Archibald takes it one step at a time with the help of his three siblings, Sage, Finly and Loy, and his trusty sidekick, Bea.

MTV is dipping back into its past once again, putting a reboot of “Clone High” in development from the original creative team of Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence.
The animated series only ran for 13 episodes in the early 2000s and featured high school versions of famous historical figures. It gained a cult following in the years since its cancellation. Like the original, the new “Clone High” will follow prominent historical figures who have been cloned and placed back in high school, including Abraham Lincoln, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc, John F. Kennedy and more, as they face the trials and tribulations of normal teenage life.
Erica Rivinoja, who was a writer on the original series, will co-write the pilot with Lord and Miller and serve as showrunner.

Justin Bieber, Tom Cruise, and Steve-o walk into an arena. Sounds like the start of a bad joke, right? We wish. Rather, it could be coming to a Ufc fight night near you, and soon.
In yet another plot twist in the weirdest story of the year, Jackass star Steve-o has proclaimed to the internet that he wants to fight the Biebs. But only if the latter doesn’t end up fighting Tom Cruise.
As stupid as this sounds, you have to admit, a fight with Steve-o would actually be a little entertaining. The guy’s pain threshold has to be off the charts, with all the nut shots and, well, more nut shots he’s taken over the years.
If you’re just getting back from a month long off-planet sabbatical and need to get caught up though, here you go. One day, Justin Bieber randomly Twitter-challenged Tom Cruise to a Ufc match.

MTV Studios is set to revive their stop-motion animated series Celebrity Deathmatch, which featured various celebrities engaging in highly stylized and ultra violent wrestling matches.
The bloody caricature versions of these celebrities would engage in bloody combat by using different abilities and weapons to deliver particularly brutal attacks, resulting in exaggerated physical injuries.
It was a fun, silly, and mindless show that managed to entertain. With the way social media has fueled the flames of celebrity and fan rivals, it makes sense that MTV would want to bring it back now.
Series creator Eric Fogel will return to executive produce, along with Ice Cube, who will also star in the new take of the series. Chris McCarthy, president of MTV, VH1 and Cmt had this to say in a statement:

Ice Cube will team with MTV Studios on a revival of Celebrity Deathmatch, MTV’s beloved Claymation series that transformed music beefs and tabloid feuds into a violent, satirical battle to the death. The rapper will both star and, through his Cube Vision production company, executive produce the revival, with the series’ original creator Eric Vogel also on board as executive producer.
“Happy to once again be working with Viacom and MTV on a fan favorite like Celebrity Deathmatch and to continue our success together,” Ice Cube said in a statement.

MTV Studios is reviving another classic MTV series, Celebrity Deathmatch. The recently launched studio is developing a reimagined version of the cult-favorite claymation stop-motion satire that skewered celebrities, politicians and everyone in between during its famed original 1998-2002 run. Well, you know what they say? If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
It took longer than Joe anticipated, but he finally rid the world (and Beck) of Peach Salinger on You Season 1 Episode 6.
Rest in some sapphic paradise, Peaches. You will be missed.
It's difficult to imagine what the series will be like in Peach's absence. Shay Mitchell was such a delight in this role, and she was a fantastic adversary for Joe. She beat the others by a landslide.
It was mentioned multiple times before, but Joe and Peach's contentious relationship was more often than not more interesting than Joe and Beck's warped love story. Badgley and Mitchell had the type of fantastic chemistry that must come from years spent on soapy teenage dramas that knew how to keep people hooked.

2016 is coming. No matter what your mood is when the clock strikes midnight, we've got your streaming needs covered for that cold, cold morning of January 1. Lighthearted acceptance: "Meet the Fockers" (Netflix) I prefer to think of "Meet the Fockers" as a tag team Celebrity Deathmatch: Robert De Niro and Blythe Danner vs. Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. Whose wisecracks land hardest? Whose anxiety-inducing jabs make Greg Focker tweak hardest? It's hard to say. I feel like conventional wisdom tells you this movie is inferior to the original, but Dustin and Barbra are wholly original, hilarious characters. Along with "The Guilt Trip," this makes two times Barbra Streisand has played believable, quirky Jewish mothers who don't seem all that much like Barbra Streisand. Unthinkable devastation: "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (Netflix) Tilda Swinton's kid is a born psychopath. I know we're supposed to find his wrath horrifying,...

Even though Halloween hasn’t passed just yet, I can’t help myself from getting the slightest bit giddy about my favorite time of the year to be a horror fan. No, I’m not talking about October’s scare-filled holiday, but the time of year when we board up our doors and pray that Krampus doesn’t come looking for naughty boys and girls to kidnap. I’m talking about Christmas, a time of psychotic mall Santas, zombie elves, illegal tree cutting, and the unholiest of all the North Pole’s enemies, Krampus himself. Those are the tinsel-draped nightmares that await you in this year’s A Christmas Horror Story, which should hold holiday horror fiends over until Michael Dougherty unleashes his own brand of X-Mas terror on the world in Krampus. Deck the halls and batten down the hatches – all signs are pointing to a bloody, violent Christmas this year.

"Celebrity Deathmatch," MTV's claymation death-brawl with the stars, is returning with new episodes to MTV2! I support this. Along with "Daria," it was one of the network's chief forums for late '90s sarcastic commentary. I also remember hearing that the real members of Hanson wept upon watching their clay fight with the Spice Girls, and that is very funny. Let's pick our favorite claymation fight from the original series. While the "Michael Jackson vs. Madonna" showdown is legend, I remember at the time feeling like the duel between Jewel and Alanis Morissette was important. Maybe the "Alaska vs. Canada" element felt trenchant at the time? I don't know. I actually remember rooting for Jewel, which is such a funny childhood mistake.
