The Comedians (1971)

Crazy credits

The Comedians

Edit

The majority of the initial run of The Comedians (the first 52 episodes from 1971-1974) carried only minimal credits for the technical crew.

The first series featured only the designer, director and producer - series 2-6 stripped this down even further by not crediting a designer.

The occasional special, such as Music Hall (1973), carried a few more technical credits, but in general the listings for these episodes are accurate to what was shown on screen, despite containing only two names behind the production.

The first revival of the series (13 episodes running from 1979-1980) increased the number of credits for technical crew, though was still minimal in nature.

Although there were credits for music and videotape editors included, standard roles like camera operators, lighting and sound were still absent from the end credits.

The second revival of The Comedians (10 episodes running from 1984-1985) continued with the show's tradition of minimal technical crew credits, listing only videotape editors, music, director and producer.

It wasn't until the show was resurrected for a third time in 1992 that the series used full credits for the production crews.
