Outstanding program!!! This show was particularly important because it was the first time Linda Ronstadt performed mariachi music prior to the release of her groundbreaking recording of Canciones De Mi Padre. Her singing was excellent. All of the stories were wonderful with great feeling and passion. Daniel Valdez and Linda performed a song which would turn our to be a preview of their stage and recorded performance of El Sol Que Tú Eres. Outstanding historically and for quality.
Luis Valdez who is famous for Zoot Suit and La Bamba, directed and produced this to perfection He would go on to team up with Linda Ronstadt again to produce La Pastorela, another outstanding example of a regional style program made brilliantly for a national audience.
