Colchis, the location of the Golden Fleece, is an actual place on the eastern coast of the Black Sea, western Georgia.
Atalanta was included in at least two ancient accounts of the Golden Fleece: those of Pseudo-Apollodorus and of Diodorus Siculus.
The title in Brazil was "A Vingança do Gladiador", which translated into English means "The Vengeance of the Gladiator", although there are no gladiators in this movie.
When the mini-series was released on DVD in New Zealand in early 2000s it was edited together as a three hour feature film.
