She was born in Brooklyn New York in 1876 as Edith Helen Seymour and took the stage name of Edith Helena. It was said she was Theodore Roosevelt's favorite singer. During the first decade of the 20th Century, she and her manager/press agent husband toured Europe and the U.S. She has several recordings on YouTube.
