Anupam Kher stated in his book " The shooting started. Watching Feroz on the sets Anupam realized how grand and stylish he was. At times it would come around looking very comical. Feroz would get mad at a drop of a hat. Any one would be his target. One day Anupam was delayed because the costume designer had not got his trousers. After waiting for Anupam for a long time he lost his patience and came into Anupam Kher's dressing room. Anupam was in his underwear, tie and shirt waiting for the trousers to arrive. Seeing Anupam Feroz said "Why are you not on the sets brother? What the hell is going on?!". Anupam told him " My clothes are not ready, i cant come like this ". Feroz told him he did not care, be on the sets. Anupam then responded "sir i cant come with my trousers.". Anupam was trying to hold in his laughter. That is when Feroz called a assistant and fired him mercilessly. A part of the film was shot in Sydney Australia. Kiron Kher had accompanied Anupam on the shoot. Feroz was with his girlfriend. One day they had a a roadside shoot. Kiron had gone out shopping. Feroz was doing a sequence with Fardeen and Meghna. Anupam was sitting across the road reading John Grisham Cold Harbour. Feroz's girlfriend went and sat next to Anupam and asked him softly "What are you reading?" Since the shot was on and complete silence to be maintained,Anupam showed her the book cover. She inquired "Is it good?". Anupam made a gesture with his right thumb. After the shot was over Feroz came over and sort of stood on top of Anupam and said "You were talking". Anupam replied "Yes". "Why" asked Feroz Khan. "Your girlfriend asked me about this book and i answered" stated Anupam Kher. "Don't give me this bullshit" yelled Feroz on the top of his lungs. Everyone in the unit was stunned into silence,including some Australians who had gathered for the crowd scene. But Feroz was not satisfied and the scene got worse. Feroz turned to Anupam and said " This is what they teach you in drama schools??! No professionalism ? This is what Alkazi taught you?! Don't you realize im paying you 70 grand ?". Anupam stated that Feroz's reference to Alkazi was the last straw for him. Anupam yelled back "Yes you are giving me 70 grand because you are required to give me that,not because you are doing me a favor. Feroz Khan,to hell with your film. I quit".Anupam then stormed off the sets and left. Feroz was shocked,so was the unit. No one could believe Anupam answered back. Back at the hotel Anupam told Kiron about the incident and told her they were leaving. Anupam then called up his manager Shetty in Bombay . It was past midnight in India. Anupam told Shetty he had quit Feroz's film. With out asking any questions Shetty asked Anupam to just finish 2 more days and come back. That was it. The moment Shetty asked Anupam to do this, Anupam's anger was gone. Anupam told Kiron that Shetty had no idea what just happened and wants him to finish the work like nothing just happened. Little did Anupam know that Shetty already heard about the incident from Feroz Khan himself. The next day Anupam Kher reported for the shooting in his usual frame of mind. While everyone was looking at him in amazement. Feroz then walked up to Anupam Kher and said "Some sher da puttar you are. A lion stood up to a lion. That is what love about you", then hugged Anupam. They became friends again and they finished the film. Anupam stated that years later when he directed Om Jai Jagdish that one of the reasons why he took Fardeen was because deep in his heart, he felt he should have not answered back to Feroz in Sydney. Anupam remembered and appreciated the fact that in the entire altercation, Fardeen Khan had not interfered. One day while shooting Om Jai Jagadish in New Zealand, Anupam told Fardeen "I want to thank you for something that is important to me". Fardeen asked "For what?". Anupam responded "That day when i had that fight with your dad in Sydney during the shooting of Prem Aggan, you never interfered. If you had , I would have really felt weaker and smaller. So i want thank you for keeping out of it". Fardeen laughed that and said " My father taught me to be a professional on the film sets. The altercation was between a director and actor. Not any guy and my father".
