The art style is known as Clip Art Animation; the characters were made out of cutouts of black-and-white photographs and Elastic Reality software was used to animate it.
Began as a short on Nickelodeon's "Kablam!"
Possibly to save on animation costs, both Karlene and January (Nanette's friends) heads are always facing toward the audience, there is never a side profile. In addition, they follow all the action with their eyes, and for the most part keep the same facial expression, particularly Karlene.
It was cut-out animated and flash animated.
