What a refreshing view of the California Missions. I had been to almost everyone as a kid, and this video really made me feel as though I was back there. It also gives a historical lesson on not only the missions, but its founders and a nice insight on how they developed. The best part of the film however, is the the way the director used past and present pictures and film to give you an idea on how it was, and how it is today. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys the Missions, and for anyone who teaches or studies about them.
This beautifully shot and entertaining video moves at a smooth pace, accompanied by an informative narrative that is packed with facts and juicy details. Every scene is so clear and complete, you will not only feel you have been to each location, but also felt the water & breezes, even smelled the flowers! I loved the closeups of the art and architecture, as well as amusing anecdotes, such as a ghost story. You will learn the facts effortlessly, as you take a virtual tour of some prized California landmarks. Highly recommended! Gorgeous and impressively thorough, with a casually elegant tone.
A well documented journey with Fr. Sara and his works as they are today. With all the fast paced development and urban saturation; to see the preservation of these historic treasures is reassuring. And now with better understanding of these treasures contained in this video, even more can be done to preserve them. After viewing this video, who could walk away and not feel a new passion towards the Missions of California.
