Frank Daniels is the perpetually sick master of of household. Or so he is convinced, and so his doctor, Van Dyke Brooke confirms. Daniels' wife, Grace Morse, is tired of this, so she has her cousin, Albert Schoenfeld tell him he has only a few hours to live. He will be dead by midnight!
I'm still rather confused on how the 1901 play CAPTAIN JINKS OF THE HORSE MARINES came to be applied to Frank Daniels' character in a series of short for Vitagraph. Still, clearly it is a catchall title for Daniels, whether he is playing a manservant or sovereign of his own domain. Despite his reputation on Broadway, he seems to be an on-again-off-again performer in the movies. He does well here, as he does in the other movie he performed in under the direction of Brooke.
