The English song played on the boat cruise with Manoj Kumar, Saira Banu, Christina,Prem Chopra etc,remained a mystery for years. For years many people wondered where the song came from and what was the name of it. It was finally released in the dance album Bombay The Hardway Guns Cars and Sitars. It was listed with the title " Ganges A Go-Go". The original song was titled "Love Me" and was released on the Purab Paschim LP Record. The intro beats of the song were sampled from the intro beats of the song "Ballad of The Purple Inn" by Calcutta 16.
After the super success of Upkar, Manoj Kumar had gone to Saira Banu's home to sign her for this film, Dilip Kumar was at home and he thought that Manoj Kumar has come to sign him, then Manoj Kumar told him that he has come to sign his wife Saira Banu and he told that one day he will come to sign him. So Dilip Kumar called Saira and he went to his room. After 5/6 years Manoj Kumar kept his promise, he went to the same place and told Dilip Kumar that this time he has not come to sign Saira Banu like last time, but he has come to sign him for Kranti.
The shooting of this movie was also be done in England, as Manoj Kumar does not prefer traveling by air, he left by ship with some of his crews for England one month before the other crews and artists who left for England one month later.
The boat ' Alpha Rose' in the party scene on the river Thames, is still ( 2016 ) in service as a tourist boat on the Thames. It was re-named 'Sarah Kathleen' but looks pretty much the same as in the film. Yes.
Manoj Kumar was not afraid of flying in a plane. The problem was upon landing he would get a fever and break out in boils. Upon landing in London via a plane for 1 schedule. Manoj broke out in boils. He had to shoot the song Raghupati Ragha Raja Ram by hiding his face and neck from the camera .
