WWE SmackDown! Live commissioner Shane McMahon is battling multiple injuries after a stunt gone wrong.

The 47-year-old longtime wrestling personality found himself in the ring at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sunday, battling longtime rival Kevin Owens, 33.

While the two exchanged their fair share of headbutts and clothesline dives on the floor and on top of the SmackDown!‘s “Hell in a Cell” cage, all went wrong when McMahon jumped from the top of the structure and down 20 ft. to the ground in an effort to knockout Owens.

President Donald Trump was accused of advocating violence against CNN after he tweeted an altered video of himself physically attacking a man wearing the network's logo on his head.

The president, 71, shared the controversial video on Sunday, July 2, amid his ongoing Twitter feuds with CNN and MSNBC. He captioned the tweet, "#FraudNewsCNN #Fnn," two hashtags he previously used to label the network's critical reporting about his administration and tweets.

The altered video originated from the real estate mogul's 2007 appearance on WWE's WrestleMania 23, where he tackled the company's founder Vince McMahon.

The Cueto Cup Tournament began on Lucha Underground this week, seeing the competitors in Group A of the tournament facing off to see who would advance to the next round. Lucha Underground has returned tonight on El Rey Network for their Mid-Season Premiere. Tonight's episode saw Lucha Underground Champion Johnny Mundo face off against challenger The Mack in an All Night Long match.

What is an All Night Long match you may be asking? Simple. It's an Iron Man match taking place during the run time for the episode. Iron Man matches are tough to pull off. In the days where the audience was not exactly aware of the fact that what they were seeing was entertainment, pulling off hour long matches would be the norm. They would send their champion to territories around the world facing challengers in matches that routinely went an hour. Nxt: Takeover: Chicago will air this Saturday on the WWE Network for the first time outside of their quarterly, big four schedule. (The big four I reference of course being the WWE events Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Survivor Series.) Taking place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, the show features the best and brightest of the WWE Nxt brand. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski took part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal during Sunday’s WrestleMania Kickoff.

Following a ringside altercation between WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal and Gronkowski’s buddy, WWE’s Mojo Rawley, the NFL star pulled out the stops to back up his friend.

The 27-year-old threw his shirt off and walked past security into the ring, sporting red shorts and a white tank. He squatted down, stuck his tongue out and ran head on at Mahal.

It’s time once more for Wrestlemania the biggest professional wrestling and sports entertainment event for fans and performers that there is. This year the event is held in Orlando, the home of Nxt – where a lot of the current roster of superstars got their start -and as usual (at least on paper) the card doesn’t seem that great. But that’s the thing with the WWE’s biggest pay per view, there’s always surprises: especially when it comes to Wrestlemania moments…. So with that lets get into Wrestlemania 33 – starting with the usual 2-hour kick off pre-show, which this year features the Crusiserweight Championship match the the now-annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale.

Ok, well technically Shaq wears size 22 sneakers while the NFL’s best tight end is merely a size 16, but they are both unnaturally large human beings. Wrestlemania 17, hands down, is the best Wrestlemania booked to date. Apart from a horribly short Women’s Championship match with Chyna facing off against Ivory, from the opening match to the main event, every match was great.

The main event of the show was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs The Rock. The previous year, Austin had been recovering from long needed neck surgery sustained at the hands of Owen Hart at Summerslam 1997. During his time away, superstars like The Rock and Triple H stepped up their game and became main event players in their own right. In case you haven’t heard, there’s a big pro wrestling pay-per-view this weekend in Florida. Oh, no, not that one — Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor XI is set for Saturday in Lakeland. Ok, so Roh is no WWE, and “Supercard XI” is won’t be WrestleMania 33 — but the growing and highly respected promotion aims to put on a hell of a show. It’s that time of year again. Wrestlemania is soon upon us. This event has become the most important event in professional wrestling, showcasing the best of the best of the sport putting on the show of their lives. With Wrestlemania appearing this Sunday on the WWE Network, I thought I’d take the time to discuss my ten favorite Wrestlemania matches, matches that to me epitomize everything that is great about the event. Without Wrestlemania 3, it’s possible that Wrestlemania could have gone the way of Starrcade. The first two Wrestlemania’s, while star studded and showing some glimpses of what the event eventually became, were more events of their time.

We're a couple weeks away from the biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania. Traditionally, the WWE has gone all out in trying to build up interest for what they call "The Showcase of the Immortals." This year, we have the WWE once again in a brand split, trying to create two separate shows with two separate identites that never intermingle. Former WWE announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross stated back in July when the brand split first occurred that we as fans would best be able to judge the success of the brand split by Wrestlemania time. So, with Wrestlemania 33 happening on April 2nd and being shown live on the WWE Network, how did Monday Night Raw add up this week?

Monday Night Raw is complete for another week. On the heels of the Fastlane Pay Per View, how did the WWE Red Brand do in setting themselves up for the Road to Wrestlemania?

The big news of the night involved the ending of the show. Braun Strowman called out Roman Reigns to finish what they started the previous night. Portland, Oregon is a city rich in history when it comes to professional wrestling. Starting with the territory owned by Don Owens, it saw the rise of performers like Billy Jack Haynes, Jimmy Snuka, and the legendary “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. February 10th, 1989 is an important date in professional wrestling history as that is the date that Vince McMahon, in testimony to the New Jersey State Senate, admitted that professional wrestling was not a sport but was in fact sports entertainment. The term they used in the wrestling business, kayfabe, giving the audience the illusion that what you were seeing was real and not staged, was officially dead.

One big development is the official challenge from Brock Lesnar to Goldberg for one last match at Wrestlemania. Brock’s advocate, the legendary Paul Heyman, once again did the talking for him which, even on Paul’s worst night, is always a treat to watch.

Heyman’s promo on Raw was the textbook reason why some people need managers. Brock Lesnar, unless he’s in an interview setting, is about as interesting on the mic as watching paint dry. In my 25 years as a wrestling fan, Royal Rumble has always been one of my favourite annual events. The opportunity to see a bunch of your favourite WWE stars and the potential for surprises make it a night to keep an eye on. This year has some interesting matches, and the Rumble itself it set to be a star-studded affair featuring a handful of veteran names from the past, primarily Goldberg, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

The Kick-Off show matches began with the women of Smackdown Live going at it in a six-woman tag team match. It was a shame that this seemingly got bumped from the main show, and I hope more effort is given to the women’s division on Smackdown soon. January 24th, 1988 was a great day in wrestling history. On that date, live on the USA Network, the WWE held their first ever Royal Rumble. In classic Vince McMahon fashion, holding this event for free on cable was a way to keep folks from ordering the Bunkhouse Stampede pay per view Jim Crockett Promotions put out that same day. The Royal Rumble match itself was revolutionary. Starting with two performers in the ring, at regularly timed intervals, another performer would come out until, in the case of the 1988 Royal Rumble, all twenty participants were in the ring. The winner of that first Rumble was Hacksaw Jim Duggan.

Fast forward 29 years and here we are at the 30th Royal Rumble. Unlike the Rumble’s that have occurred the past five years, the WWE has done an amazing job of promoting this event. They have some great matches in store as well...

Nxt Takeover: San Antonio is live tonight on the WWE Network. Takeover, for the casual fan that may not know, is the quarterly event that the Nxt brand holds. It’s their pay per view level event. Some of the best matches the WWE put on last year were at Takeover events, such as Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn at Takeover: Dallas and The Revival vs #Diy at Takeover: Toronto. The level of talent at Nxt meets and in some cases exceeds the talent on the main roster so if you’re a fan of good, entertaining matches, this show will be a can’t miss show. Presented for your approval is a preview of the show and my predictions for who comes out victorious.

On September 18th, 1989, I attend my first WWE Live Event. It was a House Show at the old Stadium Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Main Event of the show saw The Ultimate Warrior face off against Andre the Giant for the Intercontinental Championship. Other legends that were a part of the show were Shawn Michaels and Marty Janetty, Rick The Model Martel, Barry Windham, The Honky Tonk Man, and Superfly Jimmy Snuka.

I bring this up because word came out today that Jimmy Snuka has passed away at the age of 73 due to stomach cancer. His work in the ring speaks for itself. He was a legend that helped inspire the likes of Mick Foley to lace up the boots and become competitors themselves. With Wrestlemania around the corner, they want to make sure as many eyes as possible are watching the Granddaddy of Them All. It’s also a time to reflect and honor the past as this is usually the time of year they start announcing the next WWE Hall of Fame class. Monday Night Raw is in the books for another week and what an eventful show it was. The buildup for the Royal Rumble is in full swing and on this episode, we saw some developments that should make that Pay Per View interesting to say the least.

The biggest news is the fact that The Undertaker made his return to Raw and announced he would be in the Royal Rumble match. This marks his return to the Rumble match after an eight year absence. With the Royal Rumble itself being such a disappointment the past three years, it is great to see the WWE throw some big names into the match. I know one frustration I’ve had the past couple years was due to the outcome of the Rumble being telegraphed well before the show actually happened, it took the suspense of the match and tossed it out the window.

It amused me to no end when the feud between John Cena and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson got real personal a few years ago. While much of it was obviously scripted, like everything else in the WWE, there was definite tension and real-life animosity there. One of the central sticking points of the feud, which seemed to come directly from Cena's true feelings, was that Johnson had betrayed the WWE and its fans by crossing over into Hollywood and leaving them behind. Cena would constantly say he'd never leave and that the WWE Universe was his life.

[[tmz:video id="0_ihjqze6m"]] Hulk Hogan says he's had No Discussion with WWE about a WrestleMania return ... despite his daughter, Brooke Hogan, telling us he'd been contacted about a comeback. Brooke told TMZ Sports over the weekend that "people have been calling [Hulk] about WrestleMania" ... sending wrestling fans into a frenzy. Fyi -- Hulk was fired by the company in 2015. But not so fast ... 'cause Hulk says it simply ain't true. Appearing on the “Bischoff on Wrestling” podcast, Hulk shot down Brooke's claim.

Vince McMahon's mantra of "Never say never" has never been more accurate than it is right now, if these new rumors are to be believed. 

You may recall that legendary professional wrestler, and WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan had a TitanTron-sized fall from grace last year. There was the sex tape scandal, there was the sleeping with the wife of a dear friend of his, and then- the big whopper- audio of him making racist remarks. 

That last bit was enough to make WWE cut and run from Hogan last year. 

Since then, Hogan has found a bit of personal redemption. He's apologized for- and clarified the nature of- his racial remarks; He's managed to stay out of trouble and let the story blow over; And he won a Whopper of a lawsuit against the website Gawker. 

So where does this leave The Hulkster in terms of his relationship with the WWE?...

Nepotism may be afoot. WWE’s Vince McMahon named his kids the commissioners of “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown” last night. Son Shane McMahon will run the soon-to-be live “Smackdown,” while daughter Stephanie McMahon is set to lead flagship show “Raw.” The appointments should come as no surprise to anybody paying attention, though the pro wrestling promotion has paraded a number of ex-commissioners out lately, each begging for their old gigs back. Another year, another WrestleMania, and once again the WWE have put together their undeniably impressive Showcase of the Immortals, this year in Dallas, Texas.

Kicking off, as it did last year, with a seven man ladder match for the Intercontinental Title, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Sami Zayn, Stardust, Sin Cara and Zack Ryder put on a great match, delivering plenty of bumps and really setting the seeds for the ongoing Owens / Zayn feud now that both men are established on the main roster.

Next up was Aj Styles’s Mania debut against Chris Jericho, with both men giving their all but not quite creating the synergy that might be expected from two top performers. That said, Styles was impressive and will surely be a lot higher up the bill for Wm Xxxiii next year.

WWE’s annual Extreme Rules PPV always finds itself full of gimmick matches such as table matches, ladder matches, street fights and things of that nature, so it’s no surprise that the 2016 version of Extreme Rules is also full of these types of matches. Sometimes it can result in overkill, other times it can result in an entertaining event. Let’s hope this event ticks the entertaining option.
