The School of Arts and Aesthetics at the Jawarharlal Nehru University, New Delhi will organise “The Audacious Bird of Dusk: Cinema and Rituparno Ghosh”, a film festival on the works of Rituparno Ghosh. The festival curated by Abhija Ghosh, Anugyan Nag and Sumit Dey will be held from September 13 – 15, 2013.

Mumbai, Sep 4: Just two days before Rituparno Ghosh's last movie "Satyanweshi" hits the screens, Sujoy Ghosh, who stars in the lead role of detective Byomkesh Bakshi in the much-awaited project, is feeling the absence of the late filmmaker more than ever.

New Delhi, July 23: Actress Kirron Kher has revealed that during her teens she was aggressive, never took harassment lightly and even slapped a boy once for troubling her.
During a chat with comedian Kapil Sharma on his show "Comedy Nights with Kapil", Kirron threw light on her teen days. The 58-year-old mentioned that if any man harrased her, she would give him a taste of his own medicine, said a statement.
Kirron narrated an incident that happened in a theatre back then. A boy nudged her and she immediately turned around and slapped him.

Kolkata, May 30: Condoling the death of genius storyteller Rituparno Ghosh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday said with Ghosh's demise the state has lost "a golden artist of a golden era".
"This is a very sad day for us. Bengal has lost a golden artist of a golden era. Entire Bengal is saddened," Banerjee told reporters outside the late filmmaker's residence at south Kolkata.
Director of landmark films like "Unishe April", "Bariwali" and "Raincoat", Ghosh passed away Thursday morning following a cardiac arrest, family sources said. He was 49.

"Arekti Premer Golpo" (Just another love story) - a daring, sensitive, layered, gay love story - got full house at the ongoing Berlin International Film Festival. Its director Kaushik Ganguly says he always dreamt of coming here.
"Berlin is the Mecca of film and I always dreamed of coming here. But it was still a surprise when my film was selected," Ganguly, who earlier explored sexuality in his provocative film "Shunyo e Bukey" (Empty Canvas), told Ians here.
"Arekti Premer Golpo" is being shown in the Panorama section of the Berlin festival headed by Wieland Speck, which emphasises gay themes in cinema.
The film also marks filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh's debut as an actor and all heads turned when he came resplendent in a burgundy turban, velvet choker, salwar kameez, and lipstick and kohl'd eyes to present the film.
This is the third time Rituparno Ghosh is presenting a film in Berlin.
