Featured review
I have read several novels by Hans Fallada, and this is why I decided to watch this East German TV series. "Little Man - What Now?" was first published in 1932. The plot takes us back to the time of the global economic crisis that had been ongoing since 1929 and describes the fate of a "little man" and his wife in Germany towards the end of the so-called "Weimar Republic". Johannes Pinneberg (Arno Wyzniewski) learns from his girlfriend Emma (Jutta Hoffmann) that she is two months pregnant. So they quickly decide to get married, and based on their deep love, a happy marriage is on the horizon, even if it is foreseeable that they will live in modest circumstances. I watched the TV series with real pleasure, as it showed the ups and downs of a nice young couple with a fair portrayal of the era. It was all the more interesting for me because I like Berlin as a city. I also liked the acting of Arno Wyzniewski and Jutta Hoffmann.
