When viewed on Disney+, all of the songs that were originally featured in the movie, including "Bringin' Da Noise" by *NSYNC and "Life is a Party" by Aaron Carter, were replaced with generic sounding techno style music. This sparked outrage and disappointment among fans who may have grown up with the film.

According to Freeform Q&A junket for Stitchers (2015) Jeff Schechter discussed his earlier projects which includes The Other Me which is said to have been the basis for a future spinoff show in which Kyla Pratt would takeover as the female love interest and Ricky Ullman as the antagonist. Jeff Schechter Claims the project met several version of using the cloning formula and ultimately the project fell through as Andrew Lawrence was scheduled to film a pilot for the USA network and wouldn't return to the role, he also made claims that it was also rumored the project came with a sequel set to star Christina Vidal however after wrapping up press for the movie Going To The Mat, Lawrence had severed ties with Disney due to contract disputes, this rumor has yet to been confirmed as well as the earlier claims.
