I thought this series was excellent! Not only does it help you learn German, it is exceptionally entertaining. We watched this almost every other day in my German Class. They use a good deal of slang and everyday words.
If you do not pull a muscle laughing, there is something wrong with you. The concept is so silly, but so enjoyable. Everything about this series has to do with the 80s - GREAT ERA!
One of the highlights of this series is the little boy running around, the sister roller blading everywhere, the older sister who has her boyfriend whipped, and the older boy that looks like a girl. The shenanigan that these kids get up to is great.
I recommend you watch it, if you can find it! Help me if you can! You will not be disappointed by it!

I loved this movie! It was a lot of fun to watch and everyone else I know has loved it. For the most part, everyone who has commented so far has gotten most of the summary okay, but I'm just wondering if anyone else actually knows German and completely understood what was going on. I also feel sort of bad for those that do not understand German, did not know what was going on and felt it was a bad show. I believe other Germans would agree with me, er war einen guten Film! One thing is that the boy (who was a writer, by the way) entered a writing contest with one of his stories, won, and gave the prize to his parents, which was the health spa trip. Yes, the kids did not make the best choices but that was the part that made it so much fun because we all know we would have done the same thing. I also don't think that the little girl had a fetish with the calculators, but she was very smart and used to the calculators to help her parents watch their money and even told the other children that they would only be able to afford Raviolis with the money they had left. Everyone MUST admit the movie was at least funny! I am German, but I was raised to speak German and English, just so you know. It was a fantastic movie, especially for kids that want to learn German and need some common ground to encourage them. Einen tollen Film!

This show is hilarious. After their parents go on a vacation, the children buy tons of ravioli. Then the real fun starts. The youngest kid is the coolest. He tricks the sausage guy into giving him a free sausage. Then he floods the bathroom and pretends he is a whale. The youngest girl has a calculator fetish and sleeps with them in her bed. The oldest son likes to sneak under the neighbor's house to write. At one point he falls in love with a japaneese girl but when she makes them sushi they all get sick because they dont like raw fish (boo hoo).
I recommend this show to anyone who doesn't speak German

I sum up Ravioli in 5 words: stupid, pointless, waste, and bad music. If I were the director of this, I would change my name and move to Siberia.
The basic plot is this:
Four irresponsible kids are left alone at home because their parents won a lottery and got a fully paid vacation. Sounds OK so far. But when they cut into their parents prize money to buy 100 or so cans of Ravioli and they start doing things like filling the entire bathroom with bubbles and having to shoot them out of a window to be rid of them and flooding the kitchen then walking away, needless to say it is stupid. The main gag is whenever they would set something on the fold out coat hanger it falls down with a weird silly sound.
I would give this show an iffy 1 star.
