Reena Roy's third consecutive blockbuster with director J. Om Prakash. All three movies had Jeetendra as the hero but a different heroine in a parallel role:- Sulakshana Pandit in Apnapan 1977, Rameshwari in Aasha 1980 and Parveen Babi in Arpan.
Jaya Pradha was signed for the other heroine role in the film but later dropped due to her father having a falling out with J.Om Prakash.
Released on the Holi weekend in 1983.
Film proved a huge success at the box office like the other 2 films in the Trilogy.
One of the last film of Reena Roy then she retired and she was at top at that time, also one of the last film of Parveen Babi then she went abroad.
