A biopic about the life of standup comedian, TV host, and actor Steve Harvey is in the works from Objectively Good Media. Titled Seventy-Two, the project is currently in the early stages of development.
According to Deadline, the film will focus specifically on a pivotal 72-hour period leading up to Harvey’s transformative 1993 set at the iconic Apollo Theater in Harlem. The team behind the film has yet to make any casting announcements or attach a writer to the project.
In a statement, Harvey shared that he had been reluctant to explore the film route for his life story — until he read the pitch for Seventy-Two. “It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost,” he said. “Wait until you see what we do with this.”

If there’s one thing Steve Harvey knows how to do, it’s make his audience laugh.
The Family Feud host is known for his comedic one-liners and improvisations while on stage interacting with contestants.
Given his background in stand-up comedy – beginning with an appearance on Showtime at the Apollo in the 1980s – Steve excels at cracking up a crowd.
That’s exactly what Steve did during one Family Feud contestant’s recent segment involving a Brad Pitt reference.
During the episode of Family Feud, one contestant’s answer caught Steve off guard, and he, of course, found a way to make the moment even funnier than it already was.
A contestant named Paul was asked to answer the survey question, “What’s Brad Pitt got that you don’t have?”

A contestant’s answer astonished Steve Harvey so much that the Family Feud host couldn’t help but confront him.
During a round of Family Feud, Steve read a survey question to one of the teams, and things quickly got out of control.
“Give me a word or phrase that means naked,” Steve asked Arvell, who was up for his family’s team.
“Uh, can I say Nekkid?” Arvell answered.
Arvell spelled out N-e-k-k-i-d, adding a “Bing!” sound effect because he was certain it was on the board.
Steve asked Arvell if he thought that since he was pronouncing the word “naked” differently it would magically appear on the board.

“You can’t possibly be trying to pull that off on national TV,” Steve said as he approached Arvell at his family’s podium.

Fans have been waiting on the Charter School battle, and Abbott Elementary did not disappoint. The team confronted the oncoming vote for the school's future together, and it was a riot.
Draymond, a former student of Barbara's and their primary antagonist, was played by the astonishingly talented Leslie Odom, Jr. His character was sleazy and phony, but he carried it oh so well.
On Abbott Elementary Season 2 Episode 19, the staff banded together, and it further solidified Abbott's place in the community and on television.
The writers had a field day because everyone was in their hilarious element. They even featured newer teachers who stole their respective scenes. This episode is undoubtedly worth the watch.
It had that feel-good vibe of knowing that a community could come together for more than just a good time. The show is building not only a community but a world, and it's engaging and...

Photo: ‘Judge Steve Harvey’ Steve Harvey. You either know him from his successful radio show, his years as a stand-up comedian, as the host of ‘Family Feud’, ‘Showtime at the Apollo’, ‘Little Big Shots’, or all of the above. From sleeping in his car to winning six Daytime Emmys and 14 NAACP Image awards, Harvey is the true definition of a ”rags to riches” story. Despite all of his successes and television programs, the grind never stops for Steve. Back in January, Harvey announced his newest endeavor: His own court show. Yes, Steve Harvey is now a “judge”, with defendants, plaintiffs, a bailiff, and a golden gavel. No robe though. He’s “too fly” for that. Let’s take a stroll through the channels and see how ‘Judge Steve Harvey’ differs from any other court show on television right now. Motown founder Berry Gordy had a galaxy of star executives helping him build the company into the powerhouse it became, but not many of them shone as brightly as Suzanne de Passe.
Joining the company relatively late in its heyday, de Passe moved from her native Harlem to Detroit in 1968 and soon convinced a skeptical Berry to sign a group of kids calling themselves the Jackson 5. She quickly took charge of developing the group into the pop-culture juggernaut they immediately became — their first four singles went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 — developing their live show, imaging, choreography, television appearances and much more. Her next signing? An R&b combo called the Commodores featuring a young singer named Lionel Richie.
After being named the company’s West Coast head of A&R she went on to work with Rick James and others, while gradually transitioning into her main career: as a TV and film executive,...

In the early 2000s, religious music experienced a moment of mainstream success. Mary Mary’s debut album Thankful went platinum, and for a time, contemporary gospel was a pop culture touchpoint. The crossover appeal was obvious. R&b’s ebullient production grafted seamlessly onto gospel’s enduring commitment to raw talent. Its vocal tropes remain a tool of modern popular music, a means of transposing the divine onto worldly concerns. R&b singer Jazmine Sullivan, who came up singing in Philadelphia choirs, handles the desires of the flesh with godly reverence.

Steve Harvey, TV personality and multi-hyphenate entertainer/entrepreneur, admitted that he was surprised when NBC announced that a new show hosted by Kelly Clarkson would take over his timeslot on its owned-and-operated stations.
Harvey, a headline speaker at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES, was asked by interviewer Variety co-editor-in-chief Andrew Wallenstein whether he going to stay with NBCUniversal. Harvey responded, “I thought I was, until they made an announcement a couple weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the [NBC] O&O networks – that’s my slot.”
Insiders confirmed to Variety that NBCUniversal, which had been distributing Harvey’s daytime yakker, “Steve,” will no longer be doing so after the end of this season. Img, which produces the show, has been shopping the show to various syndication, cable, streaming, and broadcast outlets. A source said Harvey has options on the table, and is confident “Steve” will continue elsewhere after this year.

ABC’s TV debut of “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” gave plenty of viewers that warm fuzzy feeling on Thursday night. But many more were cracking up during the midseason finale of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. Those options, on top of NBC’s Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts matchup, pushed Fox’s “Showtime at the Apollo” Christmas special out into the cold. However, last night’s “Thursday Night Football” game hit a season-low in the earlier-than-available overnight ratings, which for live sports are more reliable than the fast national Nielsen numbers. Final time zone adjusted Nielsen numbers will be available later Friday.

NBC’s coverage of the Thursday Night Football match-up between the Colts and Broncos drew 10.6 million total viewers and a 2.9 demo rating (per finals), dropping sharply from last week to mark season lows.

Tamar Braxton’s return to the stage didn’t go as smoothly as she had hoped.
Et has your exclusive sneak peek at the moment, featured on the season premiere of Tamar & Vince. The “Blind” singer is set to perform some of her new music at a small club, and is so anxious that she forces her backup dancers to do an impromptu rehearsal.
“In the parking lot, let’s bust this 8-count, so when we get up on this stage, we gonna tear this club up,” Tamar says in a confessional. “I don’t want to get up there looking like it’s Showtime at the Apollo.”
“I’m nervous before the show, because I really wanna put on an amazing show,” she adds. “I didn’t have a sound check, I had no walk through, I had no idea what the stage looked like. I was just walking into it blind.”

I only just recently saw the original Bad Moms -- it was DVRed at an Airbnb I was staying at and I do love Kathryn Hahn -- which isn't that delayed a viewing, really, as it only came out last summer. But I skipped it at first, because Bad Moms looked...bad, a hard-r comedy about moms who've had it and so rebel by doing whip-its and driving muscle cars and calling each other "bitches,” things men think women would want to do if only society allowed them. (Both Bad Moms and its sequel are written and directed by two dudes, the same dudes behind The Hangover.)
If you never saw Bad Moms either, I'm here to tell you -- as word-of-mouth promised me -- it's...not bad. It's not great -- no no no -- but the cast is: Hahn as Carla, the single mom who has the big hair and all the p*ssy jokes, and...

The 100 returned to The CW last night after a lengthy hiatus and the ratings were down considerably from last year.
This could be attributed to a solid lead-in from DC's Legends of Tomorrow last year when it was pulling in high ratings for The CW.

Christmas lights, Showtime at the Apollo and even ladies in lingerie all tried, but couldn't bring down the live semifinals of The Voice.
