Exclusive: I Could Eat – Part 1, the first installment of a new two-part comedy special from Lavell Crawford, is set to premiere across platforms via Comedy Dynamics tomorrow, debuting in album form on Friday, October 25.

In Part 1, the trailer for which you can view above, Crawford contemplates how My 600 Pound Life could go for 15 seasons and he’s still underweight, the kind of racist you have to be to not take a free holiday, and explosive consequences in a Taco Bell bathroom.

Brian Volk-Weiss directed the special and exec produced alongside Crawford, Cisco Henson, and Justin Edbrooke. The launch date for I Could Eat – Part 2 has not yet been disclosed.

Stated Volk-Weiss, who’s the CEO of both Nacelle Company and subsidiary Comedy Dynamics, “Lavell is one of those comedians that makes you laugh until your belly hurts. This new two-part special is some of his best work!”

A biopic about the life of standup comedian, TV host, and actor Steve Harvey is in the works from Objectively Good Media. Titled Seventy-Two, the project is currently in the early stages of development.

According to Deadline, the film will focus specifically on a pivotal 72-hour period leading up to Harvey’s transformative 1993 set at the iconic Apollo Theater in Harlem. The team behind the film has yet to make any casting announcements or attach a writer to the project.

In a statement, Harvey shared that he had been reluctant to explore the film route for his life story — until he read the pitch for Seventy-Two. “It focuses on one of the most difficult moments in my journey and career, and shows the world that hope is never truly lost,” he said. “Wait until you see what we do with this.”

Exclusive: Objectively Good Media is in early development on Seventy-Two, an authorized biopic on actor, comedian and TV presenter Steve Harvey, Deadline has learned.

The deal reunites the actress and comedian with Cris Abrego, now Chairman of the Americas, Banijay, and President and CEO, Endemol Shine Holdings, and who cast Mo’Nique in VH1’s Charm School 15 years ago when he was running 51 Minds.

Steve Harvey, TV personality and multi-hyphenate entertainer/entrepreneur, admitted that he was surprised when NBC announced that a new show hosted by Kelly Clarkson would take over his timeslot on its owned-and-operated stations.

Harvey, a headline speaker at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES, was asked by interviewer Variety co-editor-in-chief Andrew Wallenstein whether he going to stay with NBCUniversal. Harvey responded, “I thought I was, until they made an announcement a couple weeks ago that they wanted to give Kelly Clarkson the [NBC] O&O networks – that’s my slot.”

Insiders confirmed to Variety that NBCUniversal, which had been distributing Harvey’s daytime yakker, “Steve,” will no longer be doing so after the end of this season. Img, which produces the show, has been shopping the show to various syndication, cable, streaming, and broadcast outlets. A source said Harvey has options on the table, and is confident “Steve” will continue elsewhere after this year.

ABC’s TV debut of “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure” gave plenty of viewers that warm fuzzy feeling on Thursday night. But many more were cracking up during the midseason finale of “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS. Those options, on top of NBC’s Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts matchup, pushed Fox’s “Showtime at the Apollo” Christmas special out into the cold. However, last night’s “Thursday Night Football” game hit a season-low in the earlier-than-available overnight ratings, which for live sports are more reliable than the fast national Nielsen numbers. Final time zone adjusted Nielsen numbers will be available later Friday.

NBC’s coverage of the Thursday Night Football match-up between the Colts and Broncos drew 10.6 million total viewers and a 2.9 demo rating (per finals), dropping sharply from last week to mark season lows.

This could be attributed to a solid lead-in from DC's Legends of Tomorrow last year when it was pulling in high ratings for The CW.

The CW: Arrow (2 million/0.6 rating) added some eye balls, while staying steady in the demo. The 100 (1.3 million/0.4 rating) returned to its former time period with decreased ratings. 

However, it outperformed Frequency's average (0.9 million/0.3 rating) in the slot.  

Fox: Star (4.1 million/1.3 rating) ticked up one tenth, while Showtime at the Apollo (3.2 million/0.8 rating) struggled.

The 100 opened Season 4 on Wednesday night with 1.21 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating (per finals), down a tick from its Season 3 finale and average (both of which were 1.3 mil/0.5), and well shy of its previous premiere (1.9 mil/0.7).

That said, the apocalyptic drama improved on time slot predecessor Frequency‘s average (940K/0.3), while earning an average grade of “B-“ from TVLine readers.

Opening The CW’s night, Arrow (1.91 mil/0.6) added a few eyeballs while holding onto last week’s demo low.

ABC: The Bachelor (6.5 million/2.1 rating) emerged as the number one show of the night, but the series debut of Big Fan (3.2 million/0.9 rating) failed to garner much interest.

NBC: Celebrity Apprentice (3.9 million/1.1 rating) slipped two tenths. An encore of The Wall (2.8 million/0.8 rating) closed the night for the peacock network. 

CBS: It was encores of The Big Bang Theory (8.5 million/1.6 rating), Kevin Can Wait (5.9 million/1.2 rating), Man With a Plan (5.1 million/1.0 rating) and Scorpion (4.9 million/0.7 rating). The only original for the network was The Odd Couple (5 million/1.0 rating). 

Fox: It was an encore of Showtime at the Apollo (2.3 million/0.7 rating). 

The CW: It was encores of Supergirl (1.2 million/0.3 rating) and Penn & Teller: Fool Us (1.2 million/0.3 rating). The former just scored a Season 3 pickup.

Christmas lights, Showtime at the Apollo and even ladies in lingerie all tried, but couldn't bring down the live semifinals of The Voice.

You have to hand it to the other networks, though, they did at least attempt to topple the NBC hit by pointing the big guns their way.

ABC's attempt with the Great Christmas Light Fight, two hours worth, from 8-9 and again from 9-10 did only 1.3 and 1.2 respectively, but had a more respectable showing in adults 25-54.

A new Conviction only brought 0.8 to the table.

On CBS Kevin Can Wait was the winner of scripted programming with 1.5 in 18-49 and 2.1 with the 25-54 crowd. Man with a Plan delivered 1.2 and 1.8 while 2 Broke Girls fell to a series low with similar numbers at a 1.2 and 1.9.

Steve Harvey is known for his comedic timing, but the funnyman showed a more sincere side when it came to discussing Kanye West's recent hospitalization.

"I love Kanye," Harvey told Et. "I've met him personally. He's a cool guy to me. I just wish him the best."
