During an interview of Jay Mohr he stated that during take #2 of a court room scene where he was to choke James Spader, Bill Murray challenged him, "I bet you can't clear that table, you got your feet on the table. Impress me." So during take #3 Mohr jumps and clears the table. After the scene Murray told him very calmly, "I knew you could do it, good job".
In an interview on his website with Barry Katz, Jay Mohr revealed Bill Murray had told one of the producers that he needed a specific day off from filming, as it was his birthday, and his sons were coming in to visit him, and the producer granted the day off. Shortly after, the producer followed up and reneged, allowing Murray only half a day, at which point Murray immediately went berserk, grabbing the producer by his collar, cursing and threatening him, and reiterating to him his belief that audiences would only be interested in the film because of his role in it. When done pushing the producer around, Mohr claimed Murray went outside for a cigarette, and upon seeing Mohr nearby, called out to offer him his private jet for the weekend if he needed it, as if nothing had just happened.
Bill Murray and Kathryn Erbe previously acted together in What About Bob? (1991).
