Romance vaguely blossoms between genial pipe-smoking 50 year-old author Johannes (Henki Kolstad, looking a lot like Heinz Ruhmann) and his daughter's teenaged friend Lone in this good looking and good natured Norwegian heimatfilm with occasional songs shot in pristine sixties Eastmancolor against an attractive coastal backdrop.
The two women that feature in the film that are actually Johannes' age (the housekeeper and the mother of the other friend) are both given pretty short shrift and the relationship between the two leads is kept reasonably innocent despite such Scandinavian diversions as a spot of skinny-dipping.
