Well, for a Disney Movie, I would have to say that this was pretty good. Obviously, it has no artistic value... But it is pretty entertaining. If you want a good time, but don't want to have to concentrate very hard on plot, ect. this is a good movie. The kid who played Adam did very well, I thought. This could launch a good career.

When I first heard the title to this movie, I thought it'd be stupid. When I came across it on tv, I found it was entertaining, funny, and suspense down to the wire. One of the funniest parts was when Chelsea Hansen got grounded for rubbing salt into her younger brother Adams' wounds who had just got grounded. Overall this was a fun movie to watch.
This movie was so-so. I kept waiting for Demitri to flop on the couch or shout "Miss Fine!" though. I can't get over the fact that he didn't flop or shout, but I'll live. It was good to see him in a movie again. Back to that movie, it was alright, but it could have been better.

Adam and his best friend have tickets to the best concert of the year, on the day his sister Chelsea is scheduled to date the hottest boy in school. The problem is that the two brothers are grounded. To get around the tough, divorced mom law, they set her up on a date. Only when the mysterious Dimitri arrives, the youngest brother notices that the candidate for stepfather is a vampire!
Wow, how evil, such a cute movie, in the silly fluffy style "Sessão da Tarde' Disney, it's not an austere work, but it's so funny, delicate, with cute children, full of visual defects (like the bat transformations ), but the children's context is very nice to watch, there are much worse films to record Top Bottom, oh pity... Unfair...

It was slightly weird seeing the daddy from THE NANNY as an evil character, and during the last little bit I kept wondering how they were going to manage to kill the vampire off, this was a Disney Channel movie after all, can't exactly ram the stake in his heart here. But it wasn't awful, and I do so enjoy Caroline Rhea. It just felt very rushed, all of it takes place in like two days. But for what it is, basically a kid's movie, it's fine enough. It's not going to be an eternal classic by any means, but cute in its own way.

In an attempt to get their mother out of the house for an evening, two kids unknowingly set their mom up on a date with a vampire.
This movie has its cheesy moments, but that's also part of its charm. The acting and dialogue are above par. Matt O'Leary (Adam) and Charles Shaughnessy (Dimitri) deliver excellent and memorable performances. The fact that it's Halloween is kept mostly in the background but there is a gothic, classic monster movie atmosphere at moments throughout the film.

I love this movie! I watch it every Halloween. Matt O'Leary is such an amazing actor. I like all his movies, that i've seen. I haven't seen spy-kids cause they're to little kid for me. But in "Frailty" and "Domestic Disturbance". Matt was just great. I love the disney channel movies but the seasonal ones usually aren't that good. But Mom's got a date with a vampire is just cool.

This is a hidden gem of a Disney Channel Original Movie. The adult cast is great. I love that we get the actor that plays Lizzie McGuires dad!!! And the actress that's Sabrina's aunt!!!!!!! I enjoy it more now as an adult than I did as a kid. I feel like this just did not get as much attention as Hocus Pocus or Halloweentown, but it's up there in Disney spooky movies! Some of it does not hold up, but that goes for most media around this time. I watch it every year. I wish the daughter had more of a role besides just wanting to hang out with her boyfriend. Overall a fun movie I look forward to every spooky season!

Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire is thankfully the only Disney Channel movie that is a dumb and unappealing vampire movie. It's supposed to be a satire of vampires, but the plot has handled that poorly. All we get is just siblings scheming their mother to get what they want and they never know they arranged a date with a blood sucking creature. Which leads how it really affected the movie, the tone is just dumb. When we first get into Dimitri, the hints we would get from him is obvious, which makes the movie predictable from start to finish. The setups on the town and the festival are not that bad and the atmosphere does try to match for a vampire movie, but the CGI is outdated and have lack of visual, even for 2000. And the characters are pretty selfish, specifically Adam and Chelsea. I really don't think it will be worth watching for anyone, even those that are into vampire stories. I have not seen a lot of vampire movies myself, but I'm sure there may be better options than this. It may not be the worst Halloween related Disney Channel movie, but the movie can easily be described as a dull vampire movie. I think the mother is better off single instead of even meeting that vampire.

Ok so here's the reality it's a Disney movie it's a family movie it's not gone with the wind so lower you're damn expectations I mean some of the people criticizing this movie for some of the most stupid reasons need a reality check it's a Disney movie it's fun it's cheesy it's enjoyable and it's actually pretty good for a Disney movie so lower your expectations stop trying to act like you're some superstar movie reviewer stop trying to make yourself sound intelligent by not picking every flaw it's just a Disney movie
Onto the review without giving much away basically two kids.. Well to be technical to siblings have plans one wants to go to a concert the other one wants to go on a date but they both get grounded and in order to get out of that, they try to arrange a date for their mother by secretly answering an ad in a paper the only problem is the date turns out to be a vampire The youngest kid figures out he's a vampire but the two kids who are grounded don't believe it they eventually realize the youngest sibling is right he is a vampire and they then go on a cross town adventure trying to save their mother from the vampire of course the mother is unaware he's a vampire throw in a Van Helsing knockoff I call him that because I can't remember the characters name is hired by the youngest child who first realized he's a vampire and they go on their own little adventure trying to track down the vampire and save the mother
None of which is a spoiler for the record that's just what the movies about so feel free not to think I've spoiled anything that literally is the start of the movie that's basically the plot that you read on the cover for example
Overall it's a cute little movie it's not to be taken seriously it's just a movie you can watch if you're bored or with kids all if you like me you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to watching cheesy family horror movies you can watch it by yourself.

I love every disney movie, even though they are pretty predictable. I am a HUGE fan of Matt O'leary, maybe the biggest fan, and this was his first movie. I loved his performance and he does a great job in every movie. The other actors did GREAT and it was a very cute and enjoyable movie. I especially loved the ending when love made her wake up from the trance. VERY GOOD i recommend it to everyone.

Hi! My name is Laura Vandervoort and I played Chelsea Hanson in the movie M.G.A.D.W.A.V! I had such an amazing time working on the movie and it was the most incredible experience for me to meet Caroline Rhea and Charles S. Mat O'leary who played Adam is such a talented actor and it was a complete pleasure to work with him before he moved on to "Domestic Disturbance". Everyone got along so very well on the set and it was a wonderful atmosphere to be in. The producer and director were great as well as the crew members.I feel I learnt a lot from that experience. It has been a great response to the movie and I have had some great people write to me after watching the movie and some of my other shows. I hope that everyone who sees the movie enjoys it for the family fun which it so very much is. Thanks a lot. Sincerely ; Laura D. Vandervoort
Yes, it's definitely typical Disney fare. However, they managed to make it somewhat interesting and suspenseful without any gore whatsoever. And that's an accomplishment.
The plot was thin, some of the special effects tacky, some of the dialogue was corny as hell.
But, the ending of this movie was worth it. Rather than being evil and monstrous, the vampire was comedic. During one scene, he yells "Give me back my coffin!" and it was hilarious. Another, involving the look on the mother's face during a key moment, was priceless. Wonderful performance by the actor who plays the elder son. He could be another Malcolm in the Middle.
I never would've seen this film if it weren't for my daughter, but I suppose I can say that for most Disney TV movies. Whether or not I would have initially chosen to watch it, I thought it was great and I'd watch it again. Whether or not it's art, it kept me interested the entire time.

Perhaps one of the best movies I've ever seen. Good acting and dialog. Great plot also. I have it recorded on DVD and watch almost every day. True love is proved in this movie like when Dimitri captures Chelsea and Adam brings the coffin back to save her from being killed and when Dimitri has Lynette under a trance and the kids call for help. This movie proved to me what true love is. I recommend it to anyone who likes action and vampires. Out of all of the Halloween movies Disney has made, this is my favorite. I guess the moral of the story is don't email people you don't know like Chelsea mentions, and family is everything as all the Hansens prove.
If you're looking for a good Halloween-themed Disney Channel original movie look no further than Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire.
A monster loving kid, the Headless Horsemen, the harvest festival, Renfield's italian restaurant, van Helsing...this movie was clearly written and directed by Halloween fans.
This is a much better film (including better performances) than...say... Phantom of the Megaplex or Under Wraps.
Watch it this Halloween season!

Mom's Got A Date With A Vampire (2000)
This movie is a pretty good Halloween movie. Every Halloween on the Disney channel, they play this movie, and I can't help myself from just sitting down to watch it. Caroline Reah and Charles Shaugnessy give good performances, and Matthew O'Leary gives a fairly good performance, as well as Laura Vandervoort. This movie has the wit to demonstrate a classic Halloween story and make you laugh every once and a while. It's pretty good for a kids movie, and it's pretty fun to watch around Halloween. 8/10.

Really very entertaining! Nice scenario, great actors, above what can be expected of a Disney tv movie :)
The best Halloween Disney movie to exist. It has everything it needs and it perfectly captures the life of early 2000s I watch it every Halloween and will always find it funny.

Wow Matt O'Leary is such a great actor. I especially love him in this movie. He is so cute. N-e-ways I really love this movie. It is so gr8! I voted 9 out of 10 for this movie b/c I think it was really good. And i think that a lot of kids could probably relate in a weird sort of way because when Uri a teenager you want to have a life of your own but parents are always interfering. So you do whatever it takes to get them out. Right? Well thats what they did. Except they didn't exactly Know that they were setting her up with a vampire. But other than the bizarre details and other stuff, i can pretty much relate to their situation. I also think that this movie is really gr8 as Halloween movie for younger children because it has vampires and what some might think as scary situations but at the same time its not too scary for them to watch. I was babysitting my little cousin when that movie came on Disney Channel and since i had already seen it I knew it was perfectly fine for her to watch it cause she wouldn't get nightmares. So i think its fine for anyone who watches the Disney Channel. I really love this movie. Plus one of its main actors is really hot. Hint: ( Matt O'Leary) I mean come on. Am i wrong? No! Of course not! He is so cute and if he doesn't have a girlfriend and we had the chance to chat or even meet then I would definitely go out with him. Not because hes famous but because hes cute, nice, sweet, smart, and he seems like a really gr8 person. Well i gotta go but if Matt reads this then please Matt O'Leary write me sometime and maybe we can chat. well g2g bye love ya

I am a fan of Disney movies, so first of all, thats one of the main reasons I liked it. Also, Matthew O'Leary is my favorite actor and I am a BIG BIG BIG fan of him, even though he is a recently new hit. I have also seen his new movie, "Domestic Disturbance". His acting is awesome, and I think he has a long and exciting career awaiting him, because he is very talented. He made all his movies and shows actually fun to watch. "Mom's Got A Date.." was really fun and interesting and I taped it. "Domestic Disturbance" really DID make me get to the edge of my seat. Very Intense! I will be buying it when it comes out on Tape/VHS. I someday hope I can be an actress. So good job Matt and the rest of the cast in "Mom's Got a Date.." I loved the movie!!!!!!!!!!
