This Friday, Devil, the Dowdle Brothers follow-up to Quarantine and The Poughkeepsie Tapes, will be unleashed in theaters under M. Night Shyamalan’s Night Chronicles banner. While relatively little is known, the plot revolves around five strangers caught in an elevator, with one of them not exactly who they say they are. Actor Bokeem Woodbine (Black Dynamite, The Breed, Dead Presidents) essays one such stranger and spoke to Fango about the film, his role and why people just may be wrong about Shyamalan.

It looks like Arcana Studios (the comic-book publishing company) is teaming up with Canadian production company Legacy Filmworks along with Bron Management to produce five films based on comics published by Arcana.
The first of these five films will be Paradox, a sci-fi/thriller which will star Kevin Sorbo and be directed by Brenton Spencer (who directed a few episodes of Stargate Atlantis). The screenplay has been written by Christos Gage (who wrote the limited three part comic series) and Ruth Fletcher Gage (both of whom have worked on Law & Order: Svu and wrote the 2001 horror film The Breed)
Sorbo plays a homicide cop on a parallel Earth ruled by magic who investigates a series of murders committed by a previously unseen means: the power of science.
The other four projects include a thriller called Chopper, based on a comic by Martin Shapiro and Sundown, which is a Western vampire thriller.

Even though they're based on serialized stories in which grown men run around in costumes, most comic book movies thus far have been deadly serious, or at least big-budget enough to be taken seriously. (Say what you will about The Spirit, but at least it has a sense of humor... sometimes.) But now it looks like we might start getting the comic book equivalent of B-movies, with Legacy Filmworks planning to make 5 movies based on Arcana comic book titles. The first one up gives you all the hints you need to know the camp potential here. THR reports that Paradox, a sci-fi thriller, will star Kevin Sorbo as a homicide cop on a parallel version of Earth, where people commit murders through the power of science. Need more evidence? The writer of the original comic series, Christos Gage, is also responsible for the 2001 thriller The Breed in which vampires walk...

The newly formed Arcana Studios is developing a total of five films based on various Arcana comics. The first up will be the sci-fi thriller Paradox, which will star Kevin Sorbo and be directed by Brenton Spencer, of TV shows like "Stargate: Atlantis" and "Earth: Final Conflict" previously. Sorbo will play a homicide cop on a parallel Earth ruled by magic who investigates a series of murders committed by previously unseen means - the power of science. Christos Gage and Ruth Fletcher Gage (of The Breed and "Law & Order: Svu" previously) wrote the screenplay based on Arcana's 3-issue limited series also written by Christos Gage. In addition to Paradox, Arcana is also developing adaptations of Chopper, a thriller based on a Martin Shapiro comic that will start shooting next month, and Sundown, a western vampire thriller, based on a Jay Busbee comic, which is scheduled for an April or May...

Arcana Studios is developing a feature version of the comic book series Paradox, report the trades. Christos Gage, who wrote the Arcana Comics three-issue limited series, penned the script with Ruth Fletcher. Kevin Sorbo is attached to star and Brenton Spencer will direct. Spencer is a veteran television director, having helmed episodes for Stargate: Atlantis, Earth: Final Conflict, Andromeda and The Outer Limits. Paradox centers on homicide detective Sean Nault (Sorbo), a cop on a parallel Earth whose technology is powered exclusively by magic. Sean investigates a baffling series of murders committed by a means he’s never seen before: the power of science. With the aid of Lenoir – a member of the ridiculed subculture of “pragmatists” who believe science is more than the stuff of myths and children’s stories – and the 130 year old sorcerer Winston Churchill, Sean uncovers an apocalyptic plot that will lead him to another dimension – ours – and the realization that,...
