G3 Live in Concert

This movie made me wonder.. is satch and vai really this good? i mean their performance is close to perfection! I rented this movie a month ago, but went out and bought it that very same day -and I don't even consider myself a satriani fan!!

Excellent show, a must for all guitarists & fans of instrumental music. To me Eric Johnson is a cut above the rest however Vai & Satch are also fantastic players! Also check out some of the subsequent tours also available on DVD, the latest one being with John Pettruci of Dream Theater. If your a player these shows will either inspire you to play all day & night or just quit! Every new G3 features Satch & Vai along with "{new blood", this helps to keep the shows original & fresh. Some of the other players who have been part of this tour include Yngwie Malmsteen & Robert Fripp. If your a fan of Eric Johnsons check out his latest DVD "Live from Austin City Limits"-just incredible!

I bought the Laser Disc of this concert a few years back because it had one of my favorite guitar players in the world on it, "Joe-Satriani". Joe is an unbelieveable player & a true gentleman. He is in a class of his own. Seeing him play live is a spectacle to behold. Pure Awesome Power! SatchRules! Steve Vai & Eric Johnson are great players as well,but Joe has the big edge in my books. I wish there had have been more songs on the disc but what was on it still makes up for an enjoyable concert of some of the best guitar players in the world today. For all you "Satch" fans, check out his upcoming DVD release of "Joe Satriani-Live In San Francisco" coming out on Aug 21st 2001....It's going to be nuts!
