Many people identify this film as being the very first sound film produced in Egypt. Because it was released almost simultaneously with The Elite (Walad el Dhawat) by Youssef Wahbi, others refer to it as "one of the first". It was a musical, so this also makes it the first Egyptian musical. Because Egypt did not yet have sound technology at the time it was made, it was necessary to record the sound in France.
This film was very expensive to produce, due to the need to record the sound in France, and it proved to be a commercial flop. Therefore, as a result of this experience, the Behna brothers decided to stop serving as producers and simply focus on distribution.
