Too Hot to Handle (1950)
** (out of 4)
This here is an actual burlesque show so what entertainment you get out of it will probably depend on how interested you are in the subject. These burlesque shows were obviously very popular at one time but they slowly started to go away once other forms of sexuality started to roll in.
Dixie Evans, Novita, Jean Carter and various other ladies do their stage act during the film, which clocks in at just under a hour. If you're looking for some sort of ground-breaking dancing then you really shouldn't expect that here. The dances are slightly entertaining for the most part but there's honestly nothing here that seperates this film from the countless other burlesque shows out there.
As with many of the other shows, this one here also features a comedy act but if you're watching this sober then it's doubtful you'll laugh. The comedy act gets to perform a couple times throughout the show and I must admit that they never made me laugh. In fact, nothing in the film really held my attention and it was rather difficult not to lose focus on what was happening.
